A Kiss At Midnight
WILD MOMENTS
ཁ་
“Please, tell me you haven’t completely lost your mind?” Caelum grabs a hold of my hand, trying to stop me as I was already halfway over the low wall, “absolutely not, Delilah.”
I look down at him with my best innocent smile. “Oh, come one. Just this once, Caelum,” giving him hand a litle tug. “Please do it for me.”
His gaze rested on me for a few seconds, clearly debating whether I was worth the headache. Apparently, I was.
With a resign sigh, he climbs over the wall and settles beside me
Well..settled was a generous word. One wrong move and we would be making the headlines.
Caelum glance down at the enormous stretch of traffic and buildings beneath us, “If I end up dying..” he didn’t finish.
“You won’t,” I shift closer to him, till my shoulder brushes his.
For a while, neither of us spoke, as we simply sat there, looking out at the city. The silence strangely peaceful
Until movement from the building across from us caught my attention, there was man ón balcony, frantically chasing what looked like a small dog around the patio table.
I blinked a bit rapidly for a second just to make sure I was seeing what I was seeing. The dog seemed to have stolen something from him judging from the way he kept waving his arms around like his life depended on gettint it back.
The little thing darts under the chair and the man crouches down to grab it, and it immediately springs in the opposite direction.
My lips twitch at this as I continue to watch them, till the man finally caught up with the dog, only for the animal to like his face repeatedly while he stares at it with pure betrayal.
I let out a soft chuckle at this, making Caelum turn to look at me. “What is it?”
Shaking my head. “It’s nothing,” I mutter out softly before slowly nudging his shoulderly lightly with mine, “not so bad now, is it?”
“Climbing onto a wall several stories above the ground?” he asked with a slight raise of his brow and I shrug.
“When you put it like that.., but you still got to admit the view is worth it.”
“That I can’t disagree,” he says after awhile, and I couldn’t help but let out a soft laugh as he adds. “I’m beginning to wonder who is the bad influence of us two.”
I laughed again, “I would say both of us have a very wild impact on each other.”
He lips twitches up to the side, “That I can also agree with. And I don’t mind you being a bad influence, I would gladyly
welcome it.”
“Easy now..okay,” I tease, trying to hide the light skip my heart had done when he said that, “but on another thought, if we are talking about doing something dangerous. How about doing this instead.”
My right hand trailed down, slow, tantalizingly slow as I smiled seductively at him as his eyes followed my every movement. My left arm moved upward and I slightly squeezed my boob making him stare heatedly at me.
“What..what are you doing.”
My other hand teasingly move the waistband of my jeans down and Just a centimeter, maybe a few more. Regardless, heat

was pooling in my panties due to the look he pinned me with.

His jaw clench a as he ran a hand through his hair, trying to regain composure. Too late. Just then, my hand disappeared
into my pants.
“Holy fuck. Delilah…” he swore and looked down as he visibly grew harder and I laughed slowly, loving the fact that I could get this reaction from him.
Caelum looks at me, lips parted, his gaze roamed all over my body. My face, neck, boobs, legs, everywhere. Icould see the inner beast in him wanting to break open that fucking cage and pounce out to ravish me without considering the danger of us sitting here. Or maybe it did add to the thrill, given the fact that I could see the battle he was fighting in his eye.
I leant forward and whispered into his ear, lowly “Leave a little, Caelum.”
Suddenly, out of nowhere, it’s like something snapped in him and he crashes my lips to his, kissing me like a crazed man as his lips molded into mine.
My fingers instinctively curls into his shirt as I melt into him, my heart pounding so hard I was convinced he could feel it. Then, just as quickly, he pulled away.
I blinked at him, dazed while he draggs a hand over his face, letting out a low groan, his chest rising and falling heavily
“God,” I couldn’t help the tiny smile tugging at my lips, he looked at me, “As much as I want to keep going,” he said, his voice rough. “I’m not about to take that risk.”
Raising an eyebrow. “Risk?”
He gestured vaguely around us. “First of all, we’re literally up in the air.”
I glanced around, then back at him. “Technically, we’re sitting on a roof.”
“Exactly,” his expression was completely serious, “A roof, high enough that I would very much like for us to keep our lives.”
A laugh escaped me as he shakes his head, but there was a smile threatening at the corner of his mouth.
“And second,” he continued, “I still want to touch you, kiss you, and feel you for a very long time,” my heart gave the most ridiculous little flutter and I immediately bit down on my lower lip, hoping it would hide the warmth spreading across my
checks.
I quickly looked away. “And here was I thinking you starting to be more fun”
He chuckles, “I’m trying to keep you alive.”
I glanced back at him, fighting another smile. “Excuses,” his eyebrow lifted while I shrugged innocently and he stared at me for a second before laughing under his breath.
Tilting my head, letting a teasing smile spread across my face as his fades into something warmer, something that made my stomach flutter all over again.
Silence fell between us, neither of us said anything else, as the city continues to move beneath us. The breeze sweeping through my hair, and I tuck the loose strand behind my ear.
Then without really thinking about it, I spoke. “I think my dad and I kind of made up,” this grabs his attention again as he L felt his attention shif toward me.
When I turn to look at him, he was already watching me, his expression had change and the teasing was gone.
“What happened? Was that why you cried.”

A Kiss At Midnight
“Yeah.” I whisper, just to shrug, feeling awkward, “I don’t know, it feel..It’s weird.” He doesn’t say anything but instead the look on his face was enough to urge me to carry on. I let out a small breath. “My dad has never been really present.
I wasn’t sure why I was telling him any of this, maybe he because he had taken up the courage to let me in at the hospital and I wanted to do the same.
And he also had a shitty ass way of masking his face when he was worried.
Though he didn’t just call it out, and ask, even though I knew he wanted so badly to. His face couldn’t hide the worry i them, right before our kiss in the car.
“My parents have always been complicated,” I said quietly, “especially my mom, she can be… cruel.” His jaw tightens slightly. but he remains silent, “She says things that hurt. A lot. And my dad never really said those things himself, but he also didn’t stop her either.”
I gave a humorless little laugh. “He’d just sit there, sometimes he would leave the room and other times pretend he wasn listening. And regardless of him not having said those hurtful things, him not saying anything was almost as worst, if not worse than she saying them.”
Caelum’s gaze remained on him, as he grabs a hold of my hand, giving it a light squeeze, and I gave a small smile. “I used to wonder why he couldn’t just defend me and why he couldn’t just tell her to stop. I think I got used to it eventually.”
That wasn’t entirely true, but I wanted it to be. It was easier to say I had gotten used to it than admit how much it had affected me.
“How was he today?” he asked and I gave another faint smile.
“Different,” his brows lifted, and i continued. “He actually apologize,” I almost laughed because even saying it aloud sounded strange, “telling me he was sorry about my mother and knew she had said things she shouldn’t have, and then he apologized for not being there.” My fingers tightened around the fabric of my pants, “I didn’t know what to do with that.”
“What did you say?”
“I asked him why he was suddenly acting so strange,” he smiles faintly at that.
“That sounds like you.”
I elbowed him lightly. “Shut up,” he chuckled and I couldn’t help but join in, before continuing. “I thought maybe something had happened to him. “Maybe he was sick, dying or something”
“You thought he was dying because he apologized?” there was slight amusement in his voice.
“I panicked,” I laugh too, shaking my head, “He wasn’t sick and just realized he had been a shitty father.” the smile faded as the word felt heavy the second I repeated them.
“At least my father had the balls to apologize,” the word slips out of my mouth with a bitter laugh that sounded nothing like amusment, I looked away for a moment, blinking back the tears that threatened to fall, my throat tighten, and there was an uncomfortable pressure sitting right in the middle of my chest, “I want to believe it was real, I really do.”
A sudden cold wind blew, making my cheeks sting with the cold of my tears
I stared down at our intertwined hands, “Maybe that makes me stupid or just desperate to believe that, for once, he actually meant what he said. But my mother..” I shook my head slowly, “she’s a completely different story.”
“My mother has always prioritized my late sister, Daisy over me,” I tried not to choke at the mention of Daisy name, knowing it was still a sore topic from me, and I wonder if I would ever heal from it.
Saying her name felt like pressure on a bruise that had never completely heal.
