A Second Chance At Forever novel (Eleanor and Bernard) novel Chapter 1519

Eleanor decided to give her husband some space and just then, her phone buzzed with a call from Hailey, who was itching for some company. They quickly made plans for Hailey to swing by for some afternoon tea.

Pulling up with her two kids in tow, Hailey made a beeline for the quaint garden behind Eleanor's place at Fiord Roundabout. From a distance, she could see Eleanor lounging under a patio umbrella, one hand cradling a steaming mug of coffee, the other resting on some architectural blueprints.

Despite having kids, Eleanor had managed to maintain her slender figure, and her face showed the tender care she'd given it over the years. From behind, you could mistake her for a college student.

Catching sight of Eleanor, always so effortlessly beautiful, Hailey felt a warm breeze lift her spirits. "Eleanor, where's your little genius? Call him out; my kids need to pay their respects to the prodigy."

At the sound of Hailey's voice, Eleanor turned with a smile, her gaze drifting from Hailey's radiant face to the children.

The boy was dressed in a crisp white shirt with a plaid vest, his hair combed sleekly back, revealing a cherub-like face—a spitting image of his father, Cedric.

The girl, on the other hand, was all dolled up in a sparkly princess dress, her hair twisted into a cute bun, topped with a silver tiara—straight out of a fairy tale.

Eleanor, who found her own son's perennial scowl a bit much at times, was utterly smitten with Hailey's little ones. She put aside her blueprints and opened her arms wide.

"Elwood, Selene, come give me a hug…"

The children broke free from Hailey's grip and sprinted towards Eleanor, especially the boy, Elwood, who seemed to have rockets on his feet as he buried himself in Eleanor's embrace.

"Aunt Eleanor," Elwood said, showing off his new toy car. "Dad just got this for me. Cool, huh?"

As Eleanor steadied him in her arms, she patted his head with a laugh. "Anything your dad gets you is bound to be cool."
