While Damian fixated on the puzzles to the point of losing his appetite, Bernard leaned against the bathroom door, waiting for Eleanor to finish her shower. As soon as she stepped out, he snatched her wrist and pulled her close.

Eleanor jumped with surprise, "Aren't you going to have dinner? What are you doing here?"

Wrapping an arm around her waist and lifting her up to press against his chest, Bernard murmured, "I'm hungry, but not for food."

Eleanor, still damp from her shower, glanced at him sideways, "Maybe we shouldn't. Damian might come knocking again looking for me."

Even though Bernard claimed his conjugal rights every night, their son's untimely knocks at the door often interrupted them. Eleanor would then have to push him away and leave.

Secretly, Eleanor didn't mind the interruptions; after all, this man in his thirties had more stamina than someone a decade younger. They say a woman's desires grow in her thirties, but with Bernard around, her needs were met before they even arose.

So, whenever Damian feigned discomfort, Eleanor seized the chance to escape, pretending reluctance while internally breathing a sigh of relief.

Bernard, of course, was aware of Eleanor's little schemes and Damian's ploys, yet never called them out, simply scooping Eleanor up and carrying her to their room.
