THIRD POV
Helen had been pacing for what felt like hours, though she could not have said exactly how long had passed since the last shift in the atmosphere.
The guest house was too quiet.
Not peaceful, but heavy in a way that pressed against the walls and settled in her chest like something unresolved.
Her footsteps moved across the floor in an uneven rhythm, sometimes slow, sometimes sharp, as though her body was trying to match thoughts that refused to settle.
Her hands flexed repeatedly at her sides, fingers curling into her palms, releasing, then curling again. It was a nervous habit she rarely allowed herself to fall into, but tonight it came without permission. There was too much uncertainty to contain.
Roman was gone.
That realization had not come immediately.
At first, she had assumed he was somewhere else in the guest house. Disoriented, perhaps. Restless. The full moon did not simply affect young wolves physically–it tore through mental stability as well, especially for one like him who had only recently awakened his wolf.
So she had checked the rooms one by one, expecting to find him pacing or sitting in silence somewhere, trying to regulate himself.
But when she reached his assigned room, the air inside had felt wrong before she even fully stepped in.
The kind of emptiness that did not come from someone resting, but from absence.
The bed confirmed it first. Untouched. No indentation. No sign of return.
Then her eyes had moved to the window.
And everything had tightened.
The frame was broken.
The glass was disturbed in a way that made it immediately clear it had not been an accident, nor a gentle exit. Something had forced its way through, or out, with urgency strong enough to leave damage behind.
Chapter 484
Helen had stood there for several long seconds, unmoving.
“No…” she had muttered quietly, almost under her breath.
Then she had stepped back slowly from the room.
Claim
Her mind had already begun assembling the conclusion before she fully allowed herself to think it.
Roman had left the guest house.
And under his current condition, there was only one direction that made sense.
Stonevale.
The thought immediately sharpened everything inside her.
The full moon did not simply heighten instincts–it stripped restraint away layer by layer until only raw impulse remained.
And Roman, still newly bound to his wolf, was not equipped to handle that level of internal pressure alone.
Helen resumed pacing faster.
Her nails pressed briefly into her palm before she forced her hands to relax again.
“This is exactly what I was afraid of,” she murmured to herself.
But fear alone was not the only issue.
Timing was.
Faye’s condition was still unresolved.
Her body was still in the critical stage where everything depended on continuity. Interruptions were not just inconvenient–they were catastrophic. Every delay weakened the alignment required for what was supposed to follow.
Helen’s jaw tightened as she forced herself to breathe steadily.
If Roman was lost now-
If anything happened to him out there-
Then Faye would not return.
That was the rule that could not be bent.
And if Alexander returned to find both outcomes had failed-

Chapter 484
Helen didn’t finish the thought.
She didn’t need to.
Her pacing became sharper.
More urgent.
Because there was no room for collapse yet.
Not while there was still movement outside.
Then-
A sound broke through the tension.
An engine… approaching.
Helen froze instantly.
Her head turned toward the window, her eyes narrowing slightly as she listened more carefully.
The sound grew closer.
One of Alexander’s vehicles.
Relief hit her first, immediate and instinctive, loosening the tight pressure in her chest just slightly.
“They’re back,” she said quietly.
But the relief did not fully settle.
Because Alexander himself did not step out first.
The car came to a stop outside the guest house.
For a brief moment, nothing happened.
Then the door opened.
Helen’s expression shifted immediately.
Kyle stepped out first.
That alone changed the tone in her mind.
She moved toward the entrance without hesitation.
Chapter 484
By the time Kyle reached the back seat, Helen was already outside.
The back door was fully open now.
And Kyle was lifting Faye’s body out carefully.
Helen stopped at the threshold of the entrance, watching the movement closely.
Faye’s body was still.
Cla
There was no visible struggle, no sign of recent movement. Only stillness that made the air around her feel cold.
Kyle held her securely, his expression focused, controlled, as he adjusted his grip before stepping forward.
Helen stepped aside immediately.
“Bring her in,” she said sharply.
Kyle nodded once and obeyed without question.
Helen turned and led the way inside.
Her pace was steady now, no longer frantic, but purposeful. Every step was directed, every movement intentional, as she guided him down the corridor toward the prepared inner room. The guest house felt even quieter now, as though it was holding its breath.
They reached the room at the end of the hall.
Helen pushed the door open fully.
“Here,” she said, stepping aside.
Kyle entered and carefully moved toward the bed.
Helen followed just behind him, her eyes tracking every detail of his movement as he lowered Faye’s body onto the surface.
The moment Faye was released, the room felt even heavier.
Stillness deepened.
Silence thickened.
Kyle stepped back slightly once the placement was secure.
Loot immediately move.
Chapter 484
She stood at the edge of the bed, her gaze fixed on Faye for a long moment.
Then she exhaled slowly.
Her expression remained tight as she confirmed what she needed to confirm without speaking it aloud.
Then she turned toward Kyle.
Her voice cut through the silence immediately.
“Where is Alexander?”
Kyle didn’t hesitate to answer.
“Alpha Alexander instructed me to bring the Luna here,” he said. “He stayed behind in Stonevale.”
Helen’s expression didn’t change.
Kyle continued.
“He said he was going after Roman.”
For a moment, Helen simply absorbed the words.
Roman had gone there.
So it was true.
Claim
He hadn’t just vanished into uncertainty–he had reached Stonevale. And if Alexander had seen him, even briefly, then there was at least a trace of direction. A confirmation that he was
still alive.
Helen kept her face composed, but internally the thought settled with relief.
At least he’s not lost.
She didn’t voice it.
Instead, she gave a small nod.
“Alright,” she said quietly.
one carried no emotion, no reaction beyond acknowledgment.
you.”
dipped his head once in response, then stepped back and moved out of the room.

Helen watched him go, then turned her attention briefly back to Faye’s body, her expression hardening slightly as she stood still in the silence again.
