A Wedding Night Gone Terribly Wrong novel Chapter 138

She had been by Chester's side since she was a baby, staying with him for 43 years until his death.

Chester knew she wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, so he only taught her martial arts. She specialized in fighting; all the work her brain couldn't handle was taken care of by her limbs. Even Winifred couldn't defeat her. She was not someone to be messed with.

Quentin turned his attention to Seth. Naturally, the coaxing tactics used on women wouldn't work on this unnaturally mature little boy.

Quentin dropped his smile and began a solemn, man-to-man conversation.

"Seth, have you and your mom been doing okay living outside these past few days?"

Seth sat perfectly upright in his highchair.

His little head wasn't much higher than the table.

But his small chest was puffed out, his back straight as an arrow.

"Dr. Adams, there's no need to shed crocodile tears."

"Seth!!"

He knew the little boy was sharp.

But still...

He was caught completely off guard.

"Iris Morgan is treacherous and vicious, yet you treat her like a flawless goddess. Shelly Hale is overly ambitious, yet you invite the wolf into the house and look entirely immersed and intoxicated by it."

"I'm giving you these examples so you'll gain some self-awareness... You coming over here to sweet-talk us means you're up to no good. Your acting is incredibly ugly."

"You... Seth Adams!"

"My last name is not Adams!"

A metallic taste surged in Quentin's stomach. "Are you planning to take the surname Lockwood?"

The son he had raised single-handedly was cutting ties with him.

Had his conscience been eaten by dogs?

If he hadn't taken Winifred in and given her a place to stay back then, Seth would have been miscarried like his two older brothers. He'd have been dead long ago!

The debt Seth owed him was higher than the sky.

"Larissa, Demi, could you please go coax Annelise and Seth for a bit?"

Before Seth and Annelise were even born, Larissa and her sister had been sent by Sharon to live with Winifred, accompanying her through her pregnancy.

It could be said they watched Seth and his sister grow up.

The four children had played together since they were young.

With such a deep emotional foundation, rebuilding their relationship would be easy.

Larissa happily accepted the mission. "Of course we can."

Her uncle was going to be a CEO, and her aunt was going to marry into the family and take care of the three siblings.

As a member of the Adams household, taking care of Winifred's side was her duty.

Shelly smiled and instructed, "Coax your little brother and sister well. Make them happy."

"I know, Aunt Shelly. If we make them happy, Winifred will give all the formulas to Uncle Quentin. Don't worry, once Uncle Quentin's company is up and running, I'll cut ties with Seth and Annelise and never talk to them again."

Seeing Shelly's expression falter, Demi worried that she might be jealous of their closeness to Seth. She earnestly made a promise. “Don't be sad, we're just using Seth and his sister for a bit. We're temporarily sharing our love. We won't neglect you for too long, Aunt Shelly. Our hearts will always belong to you.”
