A Wedding Night Gone Terribly Wrong novel Chapter 160

Winifred stared at her in shock. For a three-year-old child to say something so vicious was mind-boggling.

Deciding she didn't want to get into a shouting match with an aggressively unparented toddler in a high-end store, Winifred changed her plan. She would go buy the rest of her household items first and circle back for the bowls once Jordyn was gone.

But the moment she turned around, a screech echoed behind her.

"You're a slut!!"

It was Jordyn. Her tone and venom were a terrifyingly perfect imitation of Iris Morgan.

Winifred turned back around. She didn't care if she was dealing with a child anymore; this was infuriating.

"Who did you just call that?"

Jordyn abandoned her hoard of bowls, puffed out her chest, and planted her little hands on her hips. "I'm calling you a shameless slut! You seduced Declan Sutton!"

Winifred was stunned. "Is that what your aunt teaches you?"

"None of your business!" Jordyn's face turned bright red. "It's all your fault! You seduced Declan Sutton and made Nelly blame me! You made my aunt cry! You embarrassed my Daddy!"

"Daddy?"

Jordyn lifted her chin proudly. "Holden Lockwood. He's my Daddy now! I'm his favorite, most beautiful baby! Look at your ugly face—are you jealous again? Are you trying to scheme and ruin us again?"

Winifred looked sharply at the nanny. "Is it appropriate to fill a three-year-old's head with garbage like this?"

The nanny looked away, the corners of her mouth pulling down into a sneer. She had an unbearable air of arrogance about her.

Fletcher wheeled the shopping cart over, stepping in to handle the nanny. "Your child's worldview is completely warped. She's talking about seduction, jealousy, and revenge. Whoever is filling her head with this poison is destroying her values. You need to address this."

"Mind your own business!" the nanny snapped.

"Excuse me?" Fletcher gritted his teeth. "You think you're in the right here?"

"Who's bullying my precious girl? Tell Daddy..."

"Let's go," Winifred said quietly, pulling Fletcher away.

She couldn't even describe the feeling in her chest. She just knew she refused to waste another ounce of energy on them. Holden hadn't been a decent human being for a long time; she had accepted that reality.

They walked over to the small appliances section. Winifred picked up a rice cooker, inspecting the inner pot.

Fletcher stood next to the display shelf, hands on his hips, panting with residual anger.

"What kind of garbage parents do that? The kid is ruined, and they're too blind to see it! They're feeding adult toxicity to a toddler. Aren't they worried she'll grow up hateful and twisted? Aren't they worried she's going to grow up obsessed with adult relationships way too early? Have these people never read a book? Don't they know that if you teach a kid to be a monster, she'll eventually turn into a monster to them too?"

Winifred selected a rice cooker that doubled as a cake maker and placed it in the cart. She then moved over to the frying pans.

"Fletcher, think of it this way. That child's parents aren't decent people. The nanny is highly paid to act like a terrible person. Everyone surrounding that child is vile. Therefore, she simply has no idea how to be human."
