A Wedding Night Gone Terribly Wrong novel Chapter 334

Holden grabbed his IV tube and forcefully yanked the long needle out of his own vein.

He swung his legs out of bed, but the moment his feet hit the floor, his knees buckled. He pitched forward, crashing into the narrow hallway leading to the bathroom.

Flailing his arms to catch his balance, he stumbled forward.

Thud.

His head slammed hard into the cold wall.

Bone against concrete.

The muffled thud echoed deep in his ears.

His vision swam in a dizzying blur. He pressed his face against the wall, leaning heavily against it to steady himself. When he finally reached up to touch his forehead, his skin felt like it was on fire, pulsing with sharp pain at the slightest touch.

Using the wall for support, he slowly dragged himself into the bathroom.

Looking in the mirror, he saw a purple welt forming on his forehead.

He had hit it hard.

Without a doubt, that small bump would swell to a massive bruise within the hour.

A prominent corporate CEO, sprouting a horn on his forehead?

Heh... The man in the mirror seemed to be mocking him.

He stripped off his suit jacket, unbuckled his belt, stepped out of his slacks, and peeled off his socks. Standing barefoot in the shower, he turned on the cold water, letting the freezing spray drench his body in a desperate attempt to force the swelling down.

It was the middle of winter, the temperature hovering near freezing.

By the time he finished, his hands shook violently as he pulled his pants back on. His legs trembled so much he could barely lift them.

Slowly, even his lips began to quiver from the biting cold.

Preston's voice echoed in the hospital room. "Holden? Where are you?"

He had returned from sorting out the discharge paperwork.

Shivering too violently to speak, Holden leaned heavily against the freezing bathroom wall.

Footsteps hurried into the room—several people, their pace urgent and chaotic.

"The patient was admitted for severe alcohol poisoning. It's incredibly dangerous for him to leave so soon," came a doctor's stern voice.

Preston let out a forced laugh. "I understand, but we have an urgent emergency to handle. We'll take full responsibility if anything happens."

The doctor gave a solemn warning. "He needs strict bed rest for the next few days. Keep his diet light, let his stomach heal, and try to get his strength back."

"Will do, thank you, Doctor."

The group's footsteps receded into the hallway.
