“You seriously think that sleeping with Hebert one time makes you Bloodmoon Pack’s Luna?” I let out a sharp, bitter laugh, the accusation in my tone cutting as a blade. “Get real, Ashley! Look around you. Every Alpha here is flaunting their Luna tonight, showing the alliance exactly who their partner is. Where’s Hebert? Do you see him beside you? He didn’t even bother to show up with you!”
I raised my hand and arrogantly pointed toward the empty stretch of red carpet behind me.
“He’s just using you! Using you to humiliate me, using you to clean up all those messy accounts! You’re nothing more than a flawed reject-a wolf without a spirit, someone who can’t even bear children properly. If it weren’t for me, no Alpha out there would ever truly accept you!” I pressed forward, determined to crush what little dignity she still had. “Without me leading the way, you wouldn’t even get through that door! Your only option now is to beg me to take you in!”
Ashley didn’t move, standing firm and unshaken in the face of my harsh accusations and the spiteful stares of those around us. Not a flicker of panic; not even a trace of discomfort on her face.
She tilted her chin slightly, a faint, icy smirk creeping onto her lips.
“Your arrogance and ignorance, Brian, are somehow even more nauseating than that woman covered in rhinestones standing next to you.”
“Instead of wasting your energy insulting me, maybe you should focus on running the pack properly. Blackwood Pack has great territory, resources, and geographic advantages-they’re a goldmine. The pack members are innocent; they deserve an Alpha who’s capable of giving them a decent life, not one who leaves everything in chaos.”
I froze, stunned. What did she mean by that? Was she… actually caring about Blackwood Pack?
Before I could even process what was happening, she had already pulled out a black invitation card marked with the Bloodmoon Pack’s golden crest from her bag.
That wasn’t some ordinary ticket. It was the highest-tier invitation, something only the core members of top Alpha families-true Lunas-were eligible to hold!
My pupils shrank to their absolute limit, and it felt like an invisible hand was squeezing the life out of my heart. How… how could this be possible?
Could it be… Has Hebert really publicly acknowledged her as the official Luna of the Bloodmoon Pack?!
