Abandoned While Pregnant, Claimed by the Alpha novel Chapter 136

Chapter 136

Brian’s POV

I don’t love you anymore

Those words felt like a dull, rusty saw, mercilessly tearing through my chest. The pain was overwhelming.

I stared hard at Ashley. Her expression was unnervingly calm, like a well that had been dried up for centuries. No anger, no sorrow, not even a trace of the love I once knew so well.

God, no! A chilling wave of panic, cold as a Siberian wind, froze my blood in an instant.

No! Ashley! You can’t do this to me!I snapped, losing every shred of composure. I lunged forward, desperate to grab her hand, to somehow stop her from slipping away.

But before I could reach her, a tall figure in black stepped in like a cold front carving its way through the corridor

Hebert.

With nothing more than a casual movement, he raised a hand and clasped my shoulder in an iron grip. The overwhelming pressure of his Alpha presence pinned me in place, making it impossible to move a muscle.

Let go of me, you damn thief!I shouted, my voice raw and wild, like an animal pushed to its breaking point. You stole my Luna! My wife! You bastard!” Hebert’s piercing blue eyes narrowed slightly, a dangerous glint flickering within them. Instead of losing his temper or yelling like a madman, he took one deliberate step closer.

The next moment, his long, powerful fingers shot up and clamped around my neck with deadly precision.

Steal? His voice was low and menacing, like the whispered growl of something predatory lurking in the dark.If I really wanted to take something by force, do you honestly think you’d still be standing here on two legs, running your mouth in front of me? Brian, don’t tell me your rusted, outdated brain hasn’t kept track of the disgusting things you’ve done.

My breath left me in an instant. It felt like every bit of air in my lungs had been stolen, leaving them burning and empty.

He tightened his grip ever so slightly, his shadowy, stormy gaze threatening to swallow me whole. Ashley made her feelings perfectly clear. So let me tell you thisI don’t see any reason to bother with that damn polite act anymore.

What was he implying?

A bonechilling fear crept up my spine like venomous snakes coiling tighter with every second. I wanted to say something, maybe even summon the strength to defend myself with my dignity as an Alpha. But the moment my eyes met Hebert’s, as cold and merciless as an endless abyss, every bone in my body threatened to give way under the crushing weight of his presence.

I couldn’t even let out the tiniest sound! His absolute aura of dominance completely crushed me.

Then I heard him say, If you dare bother Ashley again, you and your pack will face dire consequences.

Ashley’s POV

I turned away decisively, leaving behind Brian’s pitiful struggle and Hebert’s suffocating presence.

I needed to get out of that oppressive hallway.

As I walked down the long corridor covered with heavy Persian carpets, my eyes caught a sneaky figure lurking around.

Uncle Paul.

My heart tightened instantly. But to my surprise, this time, he didn’t approach me like a starving hyena. When/his cloudy eyes met mine, he ducked his head in a panic, like he’d seen a ghost, and hurriedly disappeared into the shadows of another hallway.

I exhaled a long, shaky breath, my nerves finally finding a brief moment of relief.

Honestly, if he had rushed over to burden me again with more of his suffocating moral judgments, I really wouldn’t have been able to give him a straight answer.

MI

During those long, exiled years, I kept a close watch on the happenings of the Silvermoon Pack from the shadows. After all, it was the land my parents sacrificed their lives to protect. If I could ever build up enough power, could do something meaningful for my homeland, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second.

A thought darted across my mindmaybe I could find a way to
