Abandoned While Pregnant, Claimed by the Alpha novel Chapter 21

Chapter 21

My anger found a new target almost instantly.

Of course, I knew how loyal those servants were to Ashley! Ever since I forced Ashley to leave, every single one of them has looked at me with pure resentment!

So that was it. They dared to use this mess to get back at me, to humiliate Silvia!

“Damn it!” I growled through clenched teeth.

I glanced at Silvia’s tear-streaked face. She looked so fragile and helpless, and I just couldn’t bring myself to lay more blame on her. After all, she was just someone inexperienced, a kind-hearted soul trying her best.

“I get it,” I said, taking a deep breath, trying to suppress the urge to storm back and tear those servants apart. “This isn’t your fault. Once this party is over, I’ll make sure they pay for what they’ve done!”

I let out a long sigh, my eyes sweeping over the chaos that was beyond saving.

“Forget about it for now,” I told Silvia, my tone softening. “Focus on making sure the rest of this goes smoothly, especially with the food. No more mistakes.”

“Don’t worry, Brian!” Silvia quickly wiped away her tears and nodded firmly, her face lighting up with a determination to prove herself. “I’ll personally oversee the food. Nothing will go wrong this time, I promise!”

I forced myself to stand in this disastrous banquet hall, every second felt like torture. The mix of cheap perfume and tacky roses in the air was suffocating, like an invisible hand squeezing my throat, making me want to gag. Around me, I could hear the muffled whispers of the guests, but their words pierced through like sharp needles, stabbing right into my ears.

“Oh my god, I thought I walked into the wrong place-a bargain Vegas strip club, maybe.”

“I heard the Alpha’s new fling planned this. Guess the rumors are true. Her taste is as bad as her health.”

My fists clenched tightly at my sides, knuckles turning white. They were mocking me-on my turf, right under my nose. The sting of humiliation burned in my chest, hot and relentless, like fire.

And then, she walked in. My grandmother, flanked by the elders of the family, her presence commanding. Her sharp eyes scanned the hall just once before locking onto me, icy and unforgiving, like a Siberian wind cutting straight through.

“Brian, this is what you call ‘handled’?” Her disdain was palpable, and she didn’t even bother to hide it. “I can’t believe what I’m seeing. This pile of glittering trash-is this supposed to be some farewell party for Blackwood Pack?”

“Grandmother,” I stepped forward, swallowing the fury rising in me as I tried to defend Silvia, “this isn’t

Silvia’s fault. The staff here, they’re still loyal to Ashley. They deliberately fed her misinformation, which led to this mess.”

“Ha,” Grandma let out a cold, sharp laugh. It wasn’t loud, but it stung like a slap across my face. “Only you would fall for such nonsense. When Ashley was in charge, the budget I gave her was less than half of what you approved this time, yet every single banquet she hosted was elegant and flawless, earning praise from the entire wolfpack. Brian, don’t let a woman’s tears blind you and turn you into a fool!”

Each word hit me like a dagger. My jaw tightened, and a wave of anger surged through me. “There’s nothing wrong between me and Ashley,” I blurted, my tone harsher than I’d intended. “She’s just throwing

a tantrum. She needs me. She’ll be back soon.”

Grandma’s gaze was filled with disappointment. “Oh, really? Let’s wait and see,” she said, her tone devoid
