Chapter 60
Ashley’s POV
For the next few days, I was flat-out busy from dawn to dusk. Sorting out venue details, managing personnel, deciding the menu -every single thing had to be flawless. I knew this wasn’t just some regular event. It mattered-a lot. To me, to OMEGA, and to the Bloodmoon Pack.
The Omegas working quietly around the manor? They were the backbone of the pack, my allies. So, I had Leo order a variety of little cakes, and I made it my mission to personally deliver them. I went everywhere-the kitchen, laundry room, garden, even the cluttered storage rooms.
Every Omega received a little slice of sweetness from me, and I made sure to thank them for their hard work, to really listen to what they had to say. Their faces lit up with surprise and a kind of joy that hadn’t been there in ages. From that moment, they didn’t just help–they became involved, offering ideas, sharing their hopes for the celebration, even taking on more responsibilities themselves.
Seeing how much strength and spirit they carried made my determination even stronger. I knew I was on the right path.
The day’s work was finally done. By the time I dragged my exhausted self back to the estate, the moon was already hanging high in the night sky. My body was practically begging for a hot shower to wash away the day’s fatigue. I rushed into the bathroom, not expecting the disaster waiting for me-the pipe above the showerhead burst open.
Water shot out everywhere. With a startled scream, I was instantly soaked from head to toe, utterly miserable.
“Damn it!” I cursed under my breath, ignoring the water dripping off me as I stumbled out of the bathroom. I needed to find someone to fix this, or there was no way I’d be getting that much-needed hot shower tonight.
The second I yanked my door open, a wave of cool, woodsy pheromones hit me, carrying a subtle yet oddly intoxicating hint of tobacco. My heart skipped a beat. Hebert. He was there, almost like he’d stepped out of the shadows, standing in the hallway just as he was heading toward his room.
Tonight, he was dressed in a perfectly tailored navy suit that emphasized his broad shoulders and lean waist. The fabric caught the soft hallway lighting, gleaming faintly, making him look like a cover model from a high-fashion magazine-stunningly handsome in a way that was almost unfair.
He noticed me immediately. Before I could get a word out, he was already striding over, his long legs eating up the distance between us.
He stood in front of me, unbuttoned his suit jacket, and took it off before draping it over my shoulders. The jacket still held the warmth of his body and his distinctive scent, instantly wrapping me up in it.
“No, Alpha Hebert, I…” I instinctively tried to refuse.

“Put it on.” His voice carried an undeniable authority, his deep eyes locking onto mine, leaving no room for argument.
I was about to push back until I glanced down and realized just how embarrassing I looked. My white shirt was soaked, clinging to my skin, leaving nothing to the imagination-with my chest outlined clearly. And since I had been about to shower, I wasn’t wearing any underwear. The realization hit me like a truck, and heat rushed to my face. Quickly, I tightened the jacket around me, desperate to cover myself.
“What happened?” Hebert’s voice was calm but laced with concern.
“The shower’s broken,” I mumbled awkwardly, the humiliation seeping into my words.
“I’ll fix it,” he said firmly, not waiting for approval, and turned toward my room without hesitation.
“Wait, no!” I called out in alarm, rushing after him as I tried to block his path. “Alpha Hebert, this is nothing-just something the staff can handle. There’s no need for you to do it yourself!”

He stopped in his tracks and turned his head, his deep eyes glowing faintly. “I’m here now, and I can fix it quickly. No need for you to wait so long,” he said, his tone firm and leaving no room for argument
He had already stepped into my bathroom and started inspecting the problem. A few minutes later, he poked his head out. “It’s a pipe issue. I’ve got a toolbox in my room, just inside the cabinet by the door. Can you grab it for me?”
His room was right next to mine. I took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing heart. Pushing open the heavy wooden door, I was instantly enveloped by his scent-stronger and sharper than in my room. That cold, pine-after-snow kind of smell, mixed with a hint of tobacco, hit me like a wave, wrapping around me and making it hard to breathe. My breaths quickened, and my heart pounded so loud it echoed in my chest. Practically holding my breath, I rushed to the cabinet, yanked it open, grabbed the heavy toolbox, and darted out of his room as fast as I could.
When I handed him the toolbox, he was already kneeling on one knee on the bathroom floor, carefully inspecting the pipe joints. His shirt sleeves were casually rolled up to his elbows, revealing his firm, muscular forearms. The smooth contours of his muscles, with faintly visible veins, looked like a masterpiece radiating strength. His fingers, long and sharply defined, moved deftly as he twisted the wrench, each motion precise and captivating in its own way. I couldn’t take my eyes off him, completely entranced by the sight.
About ten minutes later, he stood up and dusted off his hands. “All set,” he said, his voice low and rich.
“That fast?” I blurted out, surprised.
“Yeah,” he replied with a slight nod, twisting the showerhead knob. “Let me check if the water flow’s working properly.”
The sound of rushing water filled the air as water sprayed from the showerhead—this time, a steady stream of warm water. But since the showerhead was angled wrong, the water ended up spraying straight onto Hebert.
My breath caught instantly. His white shirt, soaked through, clung to his body, outlining every well-defined muscle underneath. The broad chest, the tight abs, and even the faint lines of his V-shape-all of it became glaringly, irresistibly clear through the semi-transparent fabric. A deep blush spread across my cheeks, and heat surged uncontrollably through my body. It was somehow even more heart-stopping than when he had shown up wearing just a bathrobe.
