Chapter 92

Cecilia’s POV

The deep burgundy wine swirled lazily in the crystal glass, its rich, enticing aroma hanging in the air. I stretched out on the velvet couch, my gaze drifting to the perfectly trimmed rose garden outside the window of the Bloodmoon Pack Manor. The sudden vibration of my phone broke the serene afternoon as the screen lit up on the polished redwood coffee table.

Setting the glass down, I picked up the phone. A single message appeared: The trap is sprung.

I couldn’t help but chuckle, Good work!

I had to admit, Ashley wasn’t entirely clueless. Managing to track down fleeting clues and making it up to the Iris Tavernhalfway up the mountain within just fortyeight hours? That took some skill. The way she commanded the Alpha’s private guards with such precisionit was almost enough to make her look the part of a true Luna.

But at the end of the day, she was just an outsider. A secondrate leftover from the foulsmelling Blackwood Pack.

She thought having the highest authority granted by Hebert would let her do whatever she wanted in the Bloodmoon Pack? How naive, laughably naive! It’s like handing a loaded gun to a baby who doesn’t even know how to release the safety. But she overlooked one crucial thing: I, Cecilia, have been rooted in this territory far longer than her. I know every inch of this land and every member’s weakness inside out.

In the elite guard squad Ashley took with her, there’s someone I trust the mosta greedy guard who’d sell his soul for a handful of coins and a taste of power. All it took was one simple order from me, and he would, at the perfect moment, lead the rest of the guards deep into the wrong part of the forest.

And that reckless rogue wolf? He’s holding onto a little giftpersonally prepared by me.

It’s an ancient map drawn on sheepskin parchment. Someone like Ashley, who’s so ridiculously dependent on modern technology, would never guess that the area in the backwoods of the Bloodmoon Pack is nothing more than a blank spot on any satellite map. That place used to be a secret execution ground for traitors under the last tyrant’s rule, hidden by ancient spells and thick tangles of vines. Without that map, detailed down to each rock and fork in the path, anyone wandering there would be completely lost, like a headless chicken.

I gave that rogue wolf the perfect escape route, and for Ashley, I handpicked the most hopeless dead end.

Just thinking about that scene made my blood boil with excitement. That selfrighteous, pretentious acting Luna, who always carried herself like she was above everyone else, was now like a rabbit trapped in a corner, facetoface with a starving, savage

beast.

She didn’t have a wolf spirit. Her fragile human body wouldn’t even hold up like a piece of paper against the rogue wolf’s claws. She’d scream, cry, and desperately call out for Hebert.

But no one would come to save her.

You’re going to pay a steep price for your arrogance, Ashley,I muttered at my reflection in the glass, my voice dripping with venom. Do you really think wearing a crown makes you a queen? You’re just like Icarus, flying towards the sun, destined to fall and shatter into pieces.1

I turned away and picked up the glass of red wine, downing it in one go. The burn of the alcohol as it slid down my throat and hit my stomach brought a twisted sense of satisfaction.

There was no place for that woman in Hebert’s life. He would see the truth eventually. He would realize that I, Cecilia, with my flawless, noble bloodline, was the only one fit to stand by his side on the throne.

I walked over to the vanity and reached for a tube of bold red lipstick, carefully outlining my lips with precision. The woman in the mirror looked back at me, poised and confident, radiating an aura of alluring control.

The game has just begun. Ashley, enjoy the hellish fiesta I’ve prepared for you. When your broken body gets dumped on the
