Chapter 71

Chloe’s anger reached its peak, and then it settled into something cold and controlled.

The Arcane Defense Tower continued its relentless barrage. Chloe pulled off her insulated gloves and replaced them with Shana’s specialized protective gloves and protective mask.

She opened the chat with AAA Weapon Depot.

Chloe: [I need a bow. I’ll trade a Flame Fruit. Quick.]

AAA Weapon Depot: [Got it. I’ll trade you a rare bow and throw in 10 rare arrows. Fair deal, right?

[People in the chat have been saying your Flame Fruits work great lately.]

Chloe ignored the extra chatter and accepted immediately.

As soon as the arrows arrived, she accessed her special storage from within the territory. Wearing her gloves, she reached in and pulled out the Toxic Dream Lily she had no intention of cultivating.

She looked at it and said, “I’m guessing you can understand human speech. Magic plants, especially Epic ones, usually can. Give me some poison. I’ll plant you properly later.”

The Toxic Dream Lily shimmered in iridescent colors, like a proud and pampered noble. It did not move. Its petals folded slightly, as if turning its face away in disdain.

Chloe’s voice remained calm. “Kill that giant rabbit, and I’ll pour all its blood into your soil. I’ll bury some of its meat for you

too.”

Her gaze turned cold.

“If the other magic plants get eaten, I’ll throw you out into the snow. I’ll leave you in soil with no magical elements and let you wither to death.

“You plants from the Forbidden Forest don’t handle cold well, do you? I can see you trembling.

“Help me, and I’ll plant you in the best soil. I’ll feed you meat. I’ll give you blood. I’ll give you a clean environment without corruption.

“Defy me, and you can die with your pride.”

Her tone was as calm as if she were commenting on the snowfall. Gentle, even.

The Toxic Dream Lily trembled violently.

> Then, one of its petals tilted and dropped into Chloe’s hand, transforming into a strange, dreamlike droplet of liquid.

Chloe smiled. “Good. When this is over, I’ll let you choose where you grow. You’ll get the largest plot.”

She stored the Toxic Dream Lily and turned her cold gaze toward the rabbit.

The

frenzied rabbit was still being bombarded by the Arcane Defense Tower. The Mutant Fleece-Grass was fling fireballs outward, looking P pitiful.

The Wind Shield had

or vet broken.

The Arcane Defense Tower seemed to have inherited the violent temperament of a Legendary Arcane Core. Once it rietected weakness in the Wind Shield, it unleashed furious gusts and spiraling winds without restraint, slamming magic ime

the giant rabbit again and again.

It truly lived up to its Legendary grade.

Even with its thick Epic hide, the snow rabbit’s body had been torn open in multiple places. Blood soaked the ground, wounds deep enough to expose bone.

But the giant mutant rabbit was not focused on the tower. It had come to eat.

Chloe raised the bow and drew the string back to her ear, the arc forming a perfect crescent.

The arrowhead was coated with the vivid toxin from the Toxic Dream Lily.

Her breathing slowed.

At a distance of about 23 feet, her eyes reflected not the snow, but the giant rabbit repeatedly kicking at the Arcane Defense Tower’s Wind Shield.

She held her breath, her senses merging with the wind and the falling snow.

Limited by her low strength, her arms trembled slightly. But instinctively, she wrapped them in magic, and they seemed steadier, stronger.

Maybe it was just adrenaline.

In the middle of the snowstorm, Chloe felt as if she had returned to that first afternoon when she began training.

Her grandfather had carved wooden arrows with simple tools and crafted a composite bow with sinew.

They had lived deep in the mountains, far from town. It took three hours on a motorized tricycle just to get there. There was only one middle school within miles.

Her grandfather had guided her hands and told her not to cry. Not because they were poor. Not because others mocked her. Not because of shame.

He told her to draw the bow and focus on a distant chestnut hanging from a tree.

“Don’t be afraid. The distance your arrow can travel is your future freedom. Just release it. Just act. Do Don’t run from your anger.”

doubt yourself.

The bowstring tightened into a full moon. She released. The

arrow cut sharply through the wind and snow.

It slipped through the firing intervals of the Arcane Defense Tower and struck the rabbit precisely at the most severe wound on its back.

Just like that chestnut.

The

moment it hit, the toxin burst outward in a swirl of color. The rabbit’s blood turned mottled.

Its wounds darkened to a deep purple. Flesh began to rot instantly, breaking down into decaying tissue.

Chloe’s arrow accounted for the wind and struck with precision, driving the toxin into the torn flesh where the Arcane Defense Tower had already broken through.

The giant rabbit had never expected that such a small player could wield such terrifying poison.

Within minutes, the toxin spread rapidly. The rabbit writhed on the ground in agony, blood spilling everywhere.

Then, it collapsed and transformed into a golden chest.

Chloe’s hands were still shaking. She took a deep breath and slowly exhaled, forcing her racing nerves to settle.
