I parked the car, and unbuckled my seat belt.

“Hailey… Baby…”

“Hmm.”

“We’re here.”

“What?” She mumbled as she woke up.

“We’re here.”

“Already?”

“Yep. You and Liam slept all through the drive. Gio and Valerie are also here too.”

She sleepily looked back at our son who was still fast asleep.

“I guess he was tired.”

She sighed and stepped out of the car. It was then she finally noticed the huge villa and her mouth

dropped.

“Where are we?” She said, still looking at the building in awe.

“This is my house. Well, one of them. This is the one I use during the Christmas and New year. And, we’ll be spending the holiday here. So, what do you think? Do you like it?”

I held my breath, and this woman was going to kill me with how long she was taking to answer.

“What do you mean we’re spending the holidays here?”

“Exactly what I said. We’re spending the holiday here. At my villa. With a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. So, do you like it? Is it okay? If not, we can go back home. Or we can go somewhere else. I don’t know, Hailey. Just say something. You’re killing me here with your silence.”

She threw her head back, and laughed.

“This is amazing! And yes, I love it. Thank you so much. And yes, we can spend the holidays here. This is a beautiful house. And, you have great taste. So, yes. I’m loving this.”

She turned to Valerie and Giovanni who were also standing next to us, “How long have you both known about this?”

“Since the day Dom came up with the idea. I had to make sure that he didn’t mess this up. You

know how hopeless he is when it comes to these things.” Giovanni replied, and they all laughed.

“Hey, I’m right here you know.”

“Oh, I know. I can hear you. And, I’m not sorry for telling the truth. You should be happy, and not

pouting.”

“You are impossible. But, I love you. Anyway, let’s go inside. It’s getting chilly out here.”

“Ooh, I’m going to have so much fun here. I can already see myself sipping hot coffee and reading a good book while enjoying the view. It’s so peaceful and quiet here. And, this is definitely a great way to spend the holidays.”

“I’m glad you like it. I’ve been dying to show this place to you, and I’m glad that the wait is over. Come on. Let’s go inside.”

Hailey went back to the car, and carried our sleeping son in her arms.

“Lead the way.”

I grabbed our bags from the trunk, and started carrying them into the house. Gio and Valerie had already gone ahead, and I could hear them laughing and talking.

We walked up the stairs, and entered the house.

The house was huge, and had six bedrooms.

It was a modern villa, and had a huge kitchen, an indoor pool, a home theatre, a gym, a games room, a private movie theatre, and a sauna. It had three floors, and was decorated in a classic, rustic, modern style. It was elegant, and spacious.

Hailey was impressed, and she was walking around looking at everything.

“This is amazing! You have a sauna, an indoor pool, and a games room. This is a kid’s dream. I can already see Liam enjoying himself here. Thank you so much. I love it.”

“I’m glad that you like it. Now, come on. Let’s put Liam down in his room, and I’ll give you a tour of

the house.”

“Okay.”

She followed me up the stairs, and into one of the rooms.

“This is Liam’s room.”

It was decorated in a simple, rustic, and modern style. I had taken my time to recently instruct the interior designer to make it a kid friendly room, and on the walls were paintings of Liam’s favorite superheroes. The bed had a Superman cover, and the curtains were red. The furniture was white,

and the floors were a light grey. There was a desk and chair, and a bookshelf filled with his favorite books and toys. There was also a flat screen TV mounted on the wall, and a video game console.

Hailey placed Liam on the bed, and covered him with a blanket.

“He looks like an angel.”

“I know.”

She bent down and kissed his forehead, and he stirred a little.

“Let’s go.”

We left his room, and headed back downstairs.

“Come, I’ll give you a tour of the house. I’ll show you where everything is.”

“Okay.”

I took her hand, and showed her around the house, enjoying the feeling of our hands intertwined a

little too much.

Her hand was small and soft, and it fit perfectly in mine.

I had never felt so at ease with someone, and I couldn’t remember the last time that I’d held a woman’s hand, but with Hailey it felt normal.

Natural. Like our hands were made for each other.

I wanted to hold her forever, and never let her go. But I didn’t want to freak her out when she was just slowly trying to figure out how she feels.

I had decided not to push her, and give her the time she needed. I was not going to pressure her. And, I would be there, waiting for her.

I didn’t care how long it would take, because she was worth the wait.

Hailey was everything that I’ve ever wanted, and more.

And I would give her all the time in the world, if that was what it would take.

Because she was worth it.

All of it.

And I was ready to wait forever.

If it would mean that we could be together.

I didn’t care how long I had to wait.
