CHAPTER HUNDRED-THREE-2
CHAPTER HUNDRED-THREE-2
I’ll have to find out soon.
“I think she likes you.” I deadpanned, looking him straight in the eyes.
“What?” He chuckled, looking like I’ve said the most absurd thing ever.
“I’m serious, Dom. I think she’s interested in you, and wants to take you from me.”
“No, that’s ridiculous. Tricia doesn’t see me in that way. She sees me as her big brother.”
“That’s not true, Dom. You really need to wake up and realize that Tricia is not as innocent and naive as you make her out to be. You think she’s this sweet, little girl, who is just misunderstood and all, but you’re wrong. She’s not this fragile little flower that you have to protect for the rest of your life.”
“I did know about her little teenage crush, but I don’t think she would still be hung up on it after a
decade.”
“See, you’re proving my point. You have no idea how much she is really into you, and has always been. And she’s not going to stop anytime soon, not until she gets what she wants.”
“And what is that, Hailey?”
“You, silly. You have no idea, the lengths that she would go to, just to make you hers. She’s a vampire, Dom. They’re very territorial. She tried to scare me earlier by telling me that there are ladies waiting in line to take you away from me. I think she was indirectly referring to herself.”
“Are you jealous?” Dominic chuckled, turning my face to look at him.
“I’m serious, Dom.” Why was he not taking this situation as seriously as I was. It was annoying.
“And so am I, Hailey. Are you jealous?”
“No. I’m not. It’s not funny. This is serious. You should really pay attention to what’s going on around you. Do you know how much she has been flirting with you? And in front of me too, like she doesn’t give a shit. Even in front of your family. I just feel like you’re completely oblivious to it, and it’s not right.”
“Hailey, there’s no need to be jealous. It’s just Tricia. There’s nothing going on between us. She’s like a little sister to me. She has been since we were kids. She was always around, and spent more time at my place than her own. My mom treated her like she was her own child. I don’t care what she feels for me, because I’ll never see her as nothing more than my friend. You’re the only one I want. You’re the only woman I have eyes for. So please, if you can just forget about her, it’ll make

my life a whole lot easier.”

I groaned, wishing I could enter his head and open his eyes to see exactly what I was talking about. “Dom, it’s not that easy. She’s always flirting, and talking about you. And she’s constantly trying to put doubt in my head. And when we’re not around, I bet you anything, she’s making a move on you.
And I don’t like it. At all.”
“Okay baby. I’m sorry that you feel that way. I’ll try to speak to her about it, okay? She’s only going to spend a few weeks with us and be on her way and out of our lives. She’s a traveler. She’s never at a spot. I feel bad for her, because she doesn’t have a family to spend Christmas with. She’s all alone, and I think it’s really sad.”
“I know, but you shouldn’t feel so obligated to take her in and make her a part of your family. You’ve already done a lot, and that’s enough.”
“Hailey, stop. Don’t be jealous, okay? Please. I know it’s hard, especially after everything that’s happened. But, I only have eyes for you. I’m not into Tricia. At all.”
“You think I’m just saying this because I’m jealous?” I said, slightly pulling away from him.
“Hailey, let’s not make this thing a big deal please.”
