CHARTER HUNDRED THREE T
CHAPTER HUNDRED-THREE-1
HAILEY
Dominic and I laid cuddled up in bed, lost in our own thoughts. We were just enjoying the
comfortable silence, and we were both enjoying each other’s presence.
Dominic’s arms were wrapped tightly around my body, and I rubbed my hands on his chest tattoos, tracing the outline.
He then started drawing small circles on my back, and it felt nice.
I was just staring into space, and trying not to think of Tricia’s obvious advances. The girl had some nerves coming to me, and thinking she could intimidate me. She was a vampire, yes, but that didn’t mean she could easily make me cower in fear.
All she could do was indirectly make me see that she wanted Dominic. She was too p***y to come straight at me instead of hiding behind the covers of other women. Over a decade, and you still can’t move on from the guy you crushed on as a teenager who has never showed an atom of attraction to you, since you’ve known him.
And she thinks she can come back and things would just go back to the way they were just like that. She’s got another thing coming if she thinks I’m going to allow her do that.
“You know, you can have a conversation with me, instead of thinking about it, right?” Domini c interrupted my thoughts as he kissed my hair.
“Huh?” I asked, turning to face him.
“Instead of thinking, you can actually talk to me. What’s on your mind?”
“Oh, nothing. Just random thoughts.” I mumbled, not wanting to seem like I always have a problem about this best friend of his.
“Come on, Hailey. Don’t lie to me.” He insisted.
“I’m not lying, really. There’s just a lot on my mind.”
“And I’m assuming I’m a part of those thoughts?” Knowing Dominic he would never stop until he gets what he wants. And I can see myself not winning in this conversation.
“Yeah… Kind of. Sort of.”
“Talk to me. I can help you with your thoughts. And don’t be afraid, because whatever it is, we’ll figure it out together.”

CHAPTER HUNDRED THREE 1
“It’s not that important, really.”
“Hailey, talk to me. Tell me what’s going on.” His tone was more stern now, as he turned my face to
look directly into his eyes.
And now, I couldn’t even lie. Because he would catch it immediately.
you think
“Okay, it’s just that Tricia, is a lot. I know she’s your friend from childhood and all, but don’t she’s a bit weird? I mean, the way she was when you both were teenagers would be different by now. You haven’t seen her in over a decade, would you say you still know her like you used to?”
“What are you trying to imply, Hailey?”
“Nothing, I’m just saying. A lot can change over a period of time, and people are not always who they appear to be. Sometimes, the nicest people can have the darkest minds. And the meanest can have the purest intentions.”
“Well, yeah. I think she’s acting a little weird tho, but she’s been through a lot.”
“Like what?”
“Well, I told you about her father. So, her childhood was a bit rough.”
“But, doesn’t she have a mother?”
“Yeah, she has a mom. But, she wasn’t a part of her life at all.”
“Why not?”
“Her mom was always working, and barely made any time for Tricia. She used to always come to my house for sleepovers and all, because her parents were too busy, and would always forget that they had a daughter. That’s why she was always over at our place. Her dad wasn’t around either when he was alive, because he was always away on business trips. She used to be all alone. So, I was like a brother to her. And I know her family life was messed up, and she has daddy issues.”
As much as I felt bad about whatever family situation she was in, I knew she was only using her situation to manipulate Dominic. She was using the fact that she had nobody to get real close to him and achieve her agenda. I wondered if I was the only one noticing this. Were the others catching up to it too?
