CHAPTER HUNDRED-FIVE-1
DOMINIC
As much as I would have loved to spend the Christmas holiday with my family and have a good time and pretend like I didn’t have responsibilities as an Alpha and CEO, my work would always
show up and ruin the fun.
The next morning, the house was buzzing. Everyone was busy preparing the feast, and the Christmas spirit was still flowing.
I was trying to keep up with Hailey, because she was a complete nut. She was always the type to be overly enthusiastic and excited for every holiday.
She would decorate the tree and the entire house, and play Christmas songs at max volume. It reminded me of the days when we were married, how excited she would be whenever it’s
Christmas.
Even though Christmas had given her trauma which was the loss of her parents, she was still the bubbly free spirited girl I know. No one would ever assume that she’s ever gone through something so traumatic, and no one would ever guess what she’s had to endure.
She’s so strong, and she doesn’t even realize it.
I would always wake up on Christmas morning to the sound of the jolly old man, and she would drag me downstairs to open the presents.
She was always excited, and it was the highlight of the year for her. It felt like ages since I got to hear her melodic voice again. How could I ever divorce such a woman? And truthfully, it was only witchcraft that could blind my eyes from seeing just how lucky I was to call her my wife and my mate, and how she doesn’t know the extent I’d go for her. How I’d never give up on her, or lose
hope.
This woman is the most important person in my life, and I can’t imagine a world without her. She’s everything. And I know she doesn’t see herself the way that I do, but one day, I will show her just how beautiful she is, and just how perfect.
One day, she’ll see that her beauty is more than skin deep, and she’ll finally see the true beauty that radiates from her soul.
And one day, when the world is quiet and all we have is each other, and the walls of doubt are broken down, I will remind her again and again, how much I love her. How much she means to me. She’ll find the happiness that she deserves, and I will give her the life that she deserves.

Which is why I couldn’t understand her issue with Tricia. She had doubts, I could see it in her eyes. Does she really think I would let a whole Greek goddess like her go, for Tricia who I’ve never seen as nothing more than a friend and sister?
For a girl who I’ve never looked at or even worshipped the ground she walked on like I do Hailey, and a girl who Hailey knows has never meant anything more than a sister.
But, I can’t blame her. She’s been through a lot, and has lost so much. And it’s not like her insecurities are unfounded. It’s not like she’s imagining things.
The last thing I wanted was for her to worry or be bothered by my family and friends, especially not during this time of the year, and I would try to put her at ease.
She was going crazy, decorating the entire house and making sure everything was perfect.
It was like we were kids again, and it was the first time she was experiencing Christmas.
She was so happy and enthusiastic, and her mood was contagious.
But, after a few hours, my phone started buzzing, and it was an important call. I needed to be in the city to sign off some very important paperwork for my company, then I’m going to switch off work phone because I’m not about to miss out on this precious time with my family and mate.
