CHAPTER HUNDRED-TWELVE-1
DOMINIC
I walked into my home office, trying to drown out the horrifying information I just got. Maybe, just maybe if I pretended it never happened, if I pretended Tricia didn’t just tell me she had feelings for me, it wouldn’t be true.
If I ignored her, and didn’t give her the satisfaction of an answer, maybe then, I could live happily, and not be haunted by what just happened.
But, was that even fair to her?
Shouldn’t she be entitled to an answer, since I was the man she had been in love with for thirteen years? How the fuck didn’t I know about this? Did I play a blind eye to it too much to the extent that I never even realized her feelings for me were real?
What the hell did I do?
I sat in my chair and held my head in my hands.
How was I supposed to react?
Tricia was my best friend, and has been for a very long time. I had never seen her as anything more than that. I didn’t know how to react about this. Didn’t want to. I didn’t want to ever be put in such a situation. A girl is literally babied, given all the care I’d give to my sister to her, has always seen me as something more and I never knew about it.
I felt violated. Felt like she was enjoying all the care and attention for her own benefit. She was
using me.
What the hell was I supposed to do?
How does someone react to something like this?
Tricia was the one girl I could rely on, and trusted the most. She was the one I would go to for situations like this, but now, she was the one who made me feel this way.
It was fucked up.
“Baby, are you okay? Where did you go? Everyone is waiting for us to eat.” Hailey said, walking in.
“Oh, um… I just had some work.”
“Are you okay? You look pale, and you seem worried.” She put her hands on my cheeks, and caressed them softly. I stared at her face, taking in every beautiful feature, and her perfect blue

eyes. Her red lips.
Hailey was the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen.
The perfect woman.
And, the only person who knew how to take the worries and the problems away.

She was the one who’d make everything better, and I knew she could help me, and would understand what I was going through. But it would be me proving her worries right. It would make her more possessive over me, and I hated that.
I didn’t want her to always feel the need to be conscious of her, feeling unsafe and worried.
She was my everything, and I would never do anything to break her trust or her heart.
But, this wasn’t something I could hide.
Not anymore.
“Baby, what is it?” She asked, sitting in my lap, and holding my face.
“Hailey, can I talk to you?”
“Of course, what is it?”
I thought about it for a moment. Telling her would actually make her feel safe about other women,
it would make her trust for me stronger, and she wouldn’t have to worry as much.
So, why was I so hesitant?
Was it because I was scared of how she’d react, and what she’d say?
“Talk to me, Dom. What is it?”
I exhaled deeply.
“You were right, Hailey.” I sighed.
“Right? Right about what? What are you talking about, babe? You’re scaring me.” She said, with panic in her eyes.
“No, don’t be scared. Everything is fine. It’s just that Tricia, she told me something.”
“Okay. What did she tell you? You’re making me worry.”
