CHAPTER HUNDRED THIRTEEN
CHAPTER HUNDRED-THIRTEEN
HAILEY
Dinner was awkward as Dominic did his best to ignore me. I was very certain that the whole family
had heard me yelling Dominic’s name, but they just didn’t want to intrude.
This was our first serious fight in so long, and I could only blame myself for it. Dominic was right. He has every right to feel hurt for the way I treated him.
All I did was overreact and put my insecurities before him.
I had accused him wrongly without putting my words right. He had every right to be angry. What
the hell was I even thinking?
It’s been months since the whole Yasmine incident, and ever since then, Dominic has been nothing but the best man a woman could ever ask for. He always puts my needs before his, he always makes sure that I don’t have any doubts in my mind about our relationship, and is always there for
me when I need him.
But, today, all of that didn’t matter.
Instead, I chose to make this about my insecurities, and my fear.
Why couldn’t I trust him?
He didn’t deserve this, and he was the last person to be doubted.
The man had done absolutely nothing, and has been the most respectful human being in the world. I needed to let go of the trauma from the past to be able to move forward, if not I’d always have a feeling of doubt in my heart, and Dominic did not deserve that.
I glanced at him, and saw how quiet and reserved he was.
I had fucked up, and I had to find a way to fix this.
Tricia was sitting opposite him, and i didn’t fail to notice how her eyes would linger on him as she ate her food, and I wondered how she could sleep at night knowing that she doesn’t want to let go of a man who is obviously engaged to another woman.
How do women like this think? How are they so comfortable with being a home wrecker?
I didn’t know whether or not I should hate her or thank her.
She had confessed her feelings to him, which had made him come and tell me. And now, because of her, we had fought and argued.

This girl had caused problems from the moment she stepped into our lives, and I didn’t know how
much longer I could put up with her.
Dominic didn’t look at her, not even once. And this seemed to infuriate her. I could see the
frustration and anger in her eyes.
It was a funny feeling.
She had finally gotten the guts to confess her feelings to him, only for it to blow up in her face.
It felt nice.
It felt great.
It felt satisfying.
“Hey Dom, can you pass me the salt, please?” Tricia asked, and he didn’t reply.
“Dom, did you hear me?” She asked.
“Yeah, sorry.” He said, not looking at her.
I watched the interaction between the two of them. The awkward silence that was so obvious, and the way she was staring at him, while he continued eating.
It was clear as day, and I couldn’t understand how everyone was oblivious to it.
The dinner was silent, and once everyone was done, they got up and retired to their bedroom.
As soon as Dominic and I were alone, he started walking up the stairs. “Dom, wait. Can we talk?”
“Not right now, Hailey. I have a headache.”
“But baby, we really need to talk.”
“There’s nothing to talk about right now, Hailey. I’m pissed off, and all I want to do is sleep and forget today ever happened. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.”
“But-“I protested, but he cut me off.
“I’ll be sleeping in Liam’s room tonight. I figured we have some father son time tonight.” He said, and disappeared without another word.
My heart sank, and tears filled my eyes.
Dominic had never rejected me, and it hurt to have him do that to me.
I slowly climbed the stairs and went to our bedroom.
Dominic and I had shared many nights in this bed, and this was the first time I’d be sleeping alone.

CHAPTER HUNDRED THIRTEEN
+25 Perts
I heard a soft knock on the door, and I quickly wiped my tears and muttered a tired ‘come in’.
Valerie walked into the room, and I smiled a little bit. She and Giovanni have been bonding a lot
lately, and we rarely ever have quality time together.
She had just entered her second trimester and her stomach had gotten round from the usual flat stomach. Her skin was glowing, and her hair was getting a little long.
Thankfully, the morning sickness phase had stopped and now was the time she was getting to her pregnancy. For someone who was terrified at the thought of being a father, Giovanni has been doing a great job taking good care of Valerie. He would always make sure that she was comfortable, and would never leave her side.
He had been by her side throughout her pregnancy, and never once complained. I was so happy that Valerie was now getting her happy ending. After the loss of her mate, and having a few failed relationships, this was a chance for her to finally find her peace and happiness.
“Hey, Val. What’s up?” I said, watching her walk towards me.
“Is everything okay, Hailey? Are you and Dominic okay? Why isn’t he here?”
Of course she knew. If anyone would play a blind eye to it, Valerie would not. She had spent her whole life learning how to read people, and their actions. And even if she didn’t, Dominic’s mood had definitely changed throughout dinner, and that’s why she had gotten curious.
“Yes, of course. Everything is fine.” I lied, trying to smile. “He’s just having a boy’s night with Liam to
bond more.”
“You know, it’s funny that you say that when I can see your red eyes and your tear stained face. And the fact that Dominic is in Liam’s room.” She pointed out, making me sigh.
“I fucked up, Val. We got into a fight, and he’s pissed. And, it’s all my fault.”
“Why are you two fighting? What happened?” She asked, taking a seat on the bed.
