CHAPTER HUNDRED-FOURTEEN
HAILEY
“We had a little argument. It’s about Tricia.”
“Of course it would be about her. What’s her deal anyway? That vampire girl has been acting so weird lately, and I’m getting a bad feeling from her.”
“I
agree. I had been thinking she likes Dominic, and today proved me right. She confessed her feelings to Dominic and that’s why we’re fighting.”
“What?” She asked, surprised.
“Yes. Apparently, she’s been in love with him since they were teenagers, and still is. And, today she told him and he came to talk to me about it. I reacted poorly and accused him of liking her too. That’s why we’re fighting. He said I don’t trust him, and we are never going to work if I don’t trust
him.”
“Oh, Hailey. You shouldn’t have overreacted. It’s not like Dominic was expecting it. You have no reason to be scared or jealous.”
“But, she’s his best friend, and I know how close they are. It’s only natural for me to get worried, and jealous. You have to admit, they do spend a lot of time together. How can you expect me not to think that he doesn’t have some feelings for her too?”
“Yeah, I’ll have to be on Dominic’s side on this one, Hailey. You’re still hanging onto the past, and the more you hang onto it, the less trust you have for him. Do you really want to be with him? Can you look past everything that has happened in the past and have a fresh start? If yes, then you really shouldn’t be thinking about Tricia, and you should be trusting Dominic. I understand that this is hard, and you are traumatized. But, you should let it go and move on. Let Dominic be the man you’ve always dreamed of.”
I looked down, and sighed. She was right.
“You have to start trusting him again, Hailey. Or, you’ll lose him again. Because this time, I’ve seen how hard that man has been working to make sure you’re the happiest woman in the world. I’ve never seen a man who has worked so hard to win back a woman’s heart. And, if you let him go again, that’s a mistake.”
“You’re right. I shouldn’t have acted the way I did, and I tried to apologize. But, Dominic was upset, and we didn’t get to talk. He’s really mad.”
“Yeah, that’s the problem with men. They never want to talk things out, and are very stubborn. And,

Dominic is a prime example of this. When he’s mad, there’s no reasoning with him. But, tomorrow you should talk things out. It’s not good to fight like this. It was so obvious that something was wrong. You both were literally stabbing your steaks like you were angry.”
“I know, and I really hope he will want to talk. We can’t have things like this between us.”
“Well, try not to worry too much. Things will be okay and you both will sort things out. Just give him time. He’ll calm down, and then you guys can talk.”
“You’re right. Thank you, Val. I’m so glad you’re here, because I couldn’t imagine going through any of this without you. It means so much.”
“And, I’m glad that we have each other. Now, it’s late. You should go to bed. We have a long day tomorrow. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight.”
I watched as Valerie walked out the room, and closed the door behind her.
I let out a sigh, staring at the ceiling.
Why did things always have to be so complicated?
If it wasn’t one thing, it was the other.
When does it end?

Waking up without Dominic’s arms around me was hard. It felt strange and uncomfortable.
It’s been a long time since I had slept alone, and now after sleeping with him every night, this was a strange feeling. I didn’t realize just how much I was starting to get attached to him.
I was so used to falling asleep next to him, and waking up in his arms, and now without him, I just felt like a part of me was missing.
I slowly sat up and looked at the empty side of the bed.
Dominic and I were supposed to go shopping today, because it was New Years in two days and we had to get a couple of outfits for the parties.
He had asked me to choose my favorite designer and I had.
It was a little past seven in the morning and I decided to get up and get ready.
I went to the bathroom, showered and did my skincare routine. Once I was done, I put on my bathrobe and wrapped a towel around my head, and made my way to the bedroom.

I paused when Dominic walked into our bedroom and made his way to his suitcase, and took out
some clothes.
“Good morning.” I said, hoping to break the ice.
“Morning.” He replied, his voice cold.
I frowned and walked up to him, but he quickly turned around and walked into the bathroom.
I stared at the door as it shut, and my heart sank.
So, he was still angry.
He didn’t seem like he wanted to talk, and I wondered what else I could do to fix this.
I didn’t know if Dominic would want to take the day off from shopping, but I really wanted to spend
time with him.
But he had come to shower and get dressed, so it meant our plans were still on.
Maybe a little time with just the two of us will help mend things.
I quickly got ready and did my makeup and hair, and put on a yellow flowery sundress, and paired it with some black sandáls. I accessorized the look with my diamond necklace and earrings, and engagement ring, then I finished off the look with some red lipstick.
I was just spraying some perfume when Dominic walked out of the bathroom, water trucking down his hot body and his low hung towel around his waist.
Damn.
It was the sexiest thing I’d seen.
He was looking down at his phone, and then placed it on the counter before he reached for his
clothes.
And he went ahead and ignored me.
He had been doing this the whole morning, and it was driving me insane.
