CHAPTER HUNDRED-SIXTYSEVEN-2
“Okay, let’s do this,” I said, my heart pounding with a mixture of excitement and nerves.
We made our way to the venue, a sprawling estate with a lush, green lawn and a stunning view of the ocean. The sun was shining, a perfect, golden orb in a cloudless sky, a beautiful day for a
wedding.
Giovanni was walking me down the aisle and it almost brought tears to my eyes that my parents weren’t alive to witness this moment. My mother has always dreamt of the day o would become a bride, of how beautiful I’d look. She would always talk about the day her father walked her down the aisle. And how my father was also going to walk me down the aisle. But everything was a distant memory, neither my mom nor my dad were alive to witness it.
But I had to push the thoughts of my parents away had to focus on the present, on the man who was waiting for me at the end of the aisle.
Giovanni was at my side, his arm linked with mine, a supportive presence that grounded me. He looked handsome in his tuxedo, his dark hair perfectly styled, a small, reassuring smile on his face.
“You look beautiful, Hailey,” he said, his voice a low, gentle murmur.
“Thank you,” I said, my voice a little breathless.
“Just take a deep breath and calm your nerves. I want you to portray confidence as you walk down
that aisle. You’re about to become the Luna Queen of our pack. You want them to see you as one.”
“I will,” I promised, my eyes meeting his. “Thank you for being here, Giovanni. For everything.”
He squeezed my arm, a silent gesture of support and encouragement. “I’ll always be here for you,
Hailey. You’re my family.”
We stood at the entrance to the aisle, the doors closed, the murmur of the guests on the other side
a low, indistinct hum. My heart was pounding, a frantic drumbeat against my ribs, my hands
clammy with sweat.
The doors swung open, and the music started, a beautiful, classical melody that filled the air. All
eyes turned to me, a sea of faces, some familiar, some not. I scanned the crowd, my gaze
searching for Dominic, but all I could see was a blur of color and light.
I took a deep breath, a steely resolve settling over me. I was going to do this. I was going to marry
the love of my life.
I took my first step, my heels sinking into the soft grass, the train of my dress rustling behind me.
The guests rose to their feet, their faces a mixture of awe and admiration. I felt a surge of
confidence, a feeling of empowerment that was intoxicating. I was a queen, and this was my
coronation.

And then I saw him.
Dominic.

He was standing at the end of the aisle, a vision in his black tuxedo, his face a mask of raw,
unadulterated emotion. His eyes were locked on mine, a fire burning in their depths, a love so
intense it took my breath away. He was my rock, my anchor, the one person in this world who
understood me, who loved me for who I was, flaws and all.
The world around me faded away, the guests, the music, the fear. All that mattered was him. All
that mattered was us.
I reached the end of the aisle, and Giovanni placed my hand in Dominic’s. It felt like coming home.
Like the final piece of a puzzle clicking into place. This was where I was meant to be. This was
who I was meant to be with.
The ceremony began, the officiant’s words a drone in the background. I was lost in Dominic’s eyes,
a world of love and promise. I said my vows, my voice a little shaky but filled with a conviction that
was unwavering.
“1, Hailey, take you, Dominic, to be my lawfully wedded husband,” I said, my heart overflowing with
love. “To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part.”
