After Rejection Divorced Luna Becomes A Famous Doctor (Hailey and Dominic) novel Chapter 261

CHAPTER HUNDRED-NINETYFIVE-2

I looked at the flowers, their vibrant beauty mixing with the dart, violent reality of what had happened. I was a strange, unsettling feeling, to be the recipient of such a lavish display of affection, born out of fe

and not genuine respect.

“They’re not scared of you, Dom,” I said, my voice a little stronger now. “They’re scared of what you’re capable of. There’s a difference.”

“Is there?” he asked, his eyes searching mine. “Fear is a powerful motivator. And right now, I need them be motivated. I need them to fall in line. I need them to understand that I will not tolerate any more dissent. Any more betrayal. Any more disrespect that could cause a division within this pack. That is hc packs get destroyed, from the inside.”

I nodded, my mind filled with emotions. I knew he was right. I knew that he had to do what he had to do But it didn’t make it any easier to stomach. The cruelty, the ruthlessness. The cold, hard reality of being

Alpha.

“Come here,” he said, his arms open wide.

I walked into his embrace, my body melting against his. He held me tight, his chin resting on the top of n head, his steady heartbeat a reassuring rhythm against my ear.

“I’m sorry,” he said, his voice a low whisper. “I’m sorry you had to see this side of me. I’m sorry you had to be a part of this mess. I’m sorry I’m not giving you and our son that soft life you deserve because of my status as the Alpha. Because of my responsibilities.”

“Don’t be,” I said, my voice a raw whisper. “This is who you are, Dom. And I love all of you. The good, the bad, and the ugly. You’re my mate. My Alpha. My everything. I knew what I was getting myself involved in when I chose to be with you, when I said I do at the altar, when I chose to spend the rest of my life with you. I will always stand by your side, no matter what. I will always be your Luna. I knew it wasn’t going to be a bed of roses, but I will be strong. You don’t have to carry all this burden alone. We are in this together.

He held me tighter, his body trembling slightly. I could feel the heaviness of his responsibilities, the burden of his choices, pressing down on him. He was the Alpha, the leader, the protector. But he was also just a man, a man who loved his family, a man who would do anything to keep us safe. Even if it meant becoming a monster in the eyes of his pack.

He wasn’t been given enough credit, he wasn’t a bad person, but he had to make tough choices, and sometimes those choices were not easy. They were not pretty. But they were necessary. He has ruled this pack for over a decade, and in those years, he has won so many battles, won so many wars, he has kept everyone safe and provided for them, and it was only because he ruled with an iron fist, but also with a kind heart. A balance that was not easy to maintain, but yet his pack was so ungrateful.

So quick to turn their backs on their Alpha from the slightest rumor, one that wasn’t even true to begin with, they could easily be manipulated. They didn’t even consider the fact that this could be a set up. He

didn’t deserve that. He didn’t deserve to be betrayed by the people he had sworn to protect.

“I love you,” he said, his voice a raw whisper. “More than words can say, Hailey. I keep saying this, I do know the good I did for the Moon Goddess to bless me with a mate like you, but I sure as hell don’t ta that for granted. You’ve brought so much light into my life. I was so lost before I met you.”

“I love you too,” I said, my heart aching with a fierce, protective love. “And I always will.”

We stood there for a few moments, just holding each other, the world outside fading away. The only ti that mattered was us, our family, our love. The only thing that mattered was the steady beat of our he a rhythm that was in sync, a bond that could not be broken.

I pulled away, my eyes searching his. “What about the guards? The ones you fired. I feel a little guilty, Dominic. They had families, a life, people that depended on them. Don’t you think you were too harsh them? They lost their jobs because of me. They had no idea what was going to happen, they were tryin

their best to handle the situation.”

He sighed, his expression a mixture of frustration and resignation. “It’s not about you, Hailey. It’s about their duty. Their responsibility. They failed. They failed to protect you. They failed to protect Liam. They failed to do their job. And in a pack, failure has consequences. It’s not personal. It’s business.”

“But to exile them?” I asked, my heart aching for them, for their families. “Isn’t that a bit extreme? They could have been reprimanded, given a second chance.”

“I did what I had to do,” he said, his voice a low growl. “I had to send a message. A clear, unequivocal message that failure would not be tolerated. That weakness would not be rewarded. That the safety of t Luna and the future Alpha is paramount. Above all else.”

He paused, his eyes dark with a cold, hard resolve. “I know it seems harsh. I know it seems cruel. But it’s necessary. It’s the only way to keep our pack strong. To keep our family safe. I can’t afford to be soft Not
