CHAPTER TWOHUNDRED SEVEN-1

CHAPTER TWOHUNDRED-SEVEN-1

HAILEY

Finding out that Tricia was the one responsible for poisoning me was not on my bingo list. But, I still wasn’t surprised, in a way it all made sense.

No matter how much she had tried to hide her evil side from everyone, I just refused to believe that she had truly changed. I had my doubts. Didn’t want to believe that she would give up do easily.

I didn’t know she had a bigger plot up her sleeve. I thought it was all an act for Dominic and she would move on after he had mated me. But no…

She had bigger plans. To go as far as trying to hurt me and my baby? That was something that didn’t settle well in me and I knew we had to act fast.

She was now on the run. The bitch had somehow managed to get away and was on the run.

The pack was on alert, every guard on high alert. There was no way she could leave without someone noticing.

But she had done it.

She had gotten away, and she had left.

And Dominic was furious.

He was livid, his rage burning bright, a fire that burned within him, a flame that wouldn’t die.

He was a man possessed, a man driven, a man hell bent on revenge, a man consumed by anger.

He wanted blood.

His rage was like an inferno, a fire that burned within him.

I knew he was pissed.

I knew he wanted revenge.

But, he wasn’t the only one.

He kept blaming himself for not being able to see through her evilness. He blamed himself for not believing me when I had my doubts about her, giving her the benefit of doubt that she would never betray his trust. She was his childhood best friend, so he trusted her blindly. And that had come back to bite him

in the ass.

“This is not your fault, Dominic.” I murmured as I looked into his eyes, searching for any signs of understanding.

“She was my best friend. And…she did this to us. She almost killed you, Hailey. This is my fault. I was the one who trusted her. I was the one who let her stay in the mansion I was the one who didn’t suspect a

thing. I was the one who was so blinded by the past that I didn’t see her for who she was.”

“You couldn’t have known, Dominic. You trusted her and that is what makes you different from her. You trusted her and you never once doubted her. That doesn’t make you weak. It makes you strong.” I told him.

He sighed, shaking his head.

“I was a fool, Hailey. I should have seen this coming. I should have never trusted her. Not when there were so many signs, so many warning signs. But no, I was too blind to see it.”

“Stop blaming yourself for things you had no control over. No one would have ever expected Tricia to betray us. We were all fools. Not just you. So please, stop blaming yourself.” I said, grabbing his face in my hands, my eyes boring into his.

“You tried to tell me. You told me you didn’t trust her. You told me there was something wrong with her. I was the one who didn’t listen.”

“No, Dominic. I was the one who didn’t like her, didn’t trust her, didn’t want her anywhere near you. That doesn’t mean she could do anything. She had to put the plan in action and she had to wait for the right time. You couldn’t have known that. Even if you didn’t trust her, nothing could have prepared you for this. This was something no one expected. Not even me. But, she was the mastermind behind all of this and now, we have to find her and make her pay.”

“Hailey…”

“Dominic, you need to stop beating yourself over something that you had no control over. This isn’t your fault, this isn’t my fault. This is hers. She did this. She is the reason why we are suffering, she is the reason why we have lost so many guards, the reason why we are in a vulnerable state. She is the reason, not you.”

I said.
