“I will never lie about something like this, Alpha. She came up to me in the kitchen one day. You remember the day you locked her up for exposing the news of Luna’s pregnancy? It was that day she came up to me. She already had informations about me and my family’s lives in New York. She threatened me to do what she said, and in exchange, she promised that she would not harm my family and friends. Alpha, I swear to you, she is the one. She is the one who sent me. I swear on my family’s lives and everything that is precious to me. It was her.” Lucy stammered.

My blood boiled and my heart raced.

My eyes met hers and I knew. I knew the truth. She was not lying, but she wasn’t the only one who would get punished. I was going to make sure Tricia got her punishment as well. She had tried to kill the only thing in this world that I loved and protected the most. And that, would not go unpunished.

No.

Her time was running out, and soon, she will regret ever crossing me.

She would soon wish she had stayed out of this, wish she never crossed my path, wish she never met me, wish she never came to this pack, and wish she never betrayed me.

Because once she crosses me, she is going down, and there was no way she would come back from the

dead.

Carlos suddenly opened the cell and looked at me, his eyes worried, and I could tell something was wrong. My heart clenched.

“Alpha.” He called out.

“Yes?” I asked, a little worried.

“Tricia. I saw her leaving. It… it seemed like she was running away from something.”

His words sent shock waves through me and I froze, my mind whirling. “She was what?” I asked. “She’s on the run. It was around midnight when I saw her fleeing. I thought she had gotten a message and had come to check on Hailey. But…when I got to your wing, everything was peaceful. She left in a hurry and she was running. I had no idea what was wrong, and I thought maybe something was wrong so I followed her and then…” Carlos’ voice faded out, my heart pounding.

“And then, what?” I asked, my blood pounding in my veins, my wolf roaring in fury.

“I lost her. She was faster than me and she escaped. I think she had taken one of the guard out too Alpha… I have no idea why she’s running away. It wasn’t a random occurrence. She looked as if she was trying to escape. It looked like she was running away from something, from someone

The betrayal and shock I felt was indescribable. My mind went into a blank, Tricia…the woman i thought would never betray me, the woman I considered family, the woman who was always by my side, the

woman who had always been there…she had betrayed me.

She had betrayed the pack.

And now, she was running away, probably never to be found again.

She was running away and I was left reeling at the news. I was shocked to my core, and all I could feel

was hurt and anger.

Hurt because of the betrayal. Anger because of how easily she had crossed me. Hurt because of how much of a fool I had been. Anger because of the lies she had fed me all this time. Anger because of the way she had manipulated me. And hurt because I was the only one who had blind faith in her, while everyone else didn’t. I had refused to believe what everyone thought to be true. I refused to listen. And I had suffered. I had suffered the most because she betrayed me, and the pain was unlike any I had felt.

“She’s running because…” I swallowed, my chest heavy.

“Because what?”

“She is the traitor. Tricia poisoned Hailey. Tricia is the enemy we have been looking for all this time.” I murmured, my eyes looking down at the ground. My hands clenched into fists. My body trembled in rage “She has been the one all this time.”

Saying it out loud only made me realize how true it was, how she had been a part of this pack all along and how no one, no one except my mate saw that she was bad news. How Hailey tried to tell me that there was something fishy about her. And I was so blind to it all that I ignored it and refused to listen.

But, it didn’t matter now, she was going to get her punishment. She was going to suffer for all that she had done to me, my family, my pack, and to the person who mattered to me more than anything. She would get what she deserves. And there would be no mercy, no second chance.

Her punishment would be harsh.

Harsh like she deserved.
