GIOVANNI

As soon as Hailey left the room to take Liam to bed, Valerie stood to her feet with the empty dishes in

hand as she walked into the kitchen, without saying a word to me.

As much as I hated to admit it, the silent treatment was beginning to bother me. Not that it hadn’t

bothered me before, but now, it was more.

I stood to my feet, and followed her into the kitchen. As soon as she saw me, she rolled her eyes.

“So, are you just going to ignore me now, huh? Is this how it’s going to be from now on?”

No response.

“Fine, be like that. Act like a child. Ignore me all you want. I don’t care. In fact, it doesn’t even bother me.”

Valerie was standing near the sink, cleaning the dishes. “Oh, really? Well, then. Leave me alone, will you? If you truly aren’t bothered, then you shouldn’t be here, talking to me. Right, Gio?”

She had a point, but I couldn’t stop myself.

“I know you’re still pissed off about me leaving right after we had sex. Trust me, your anger is valid. But, this is all new for me. I’ve never spent the night with a girl, and I’ve never cared. And, now, I’m trying to figure things out. I’m trying, Valerie. For you. And, if you could give me some kind of a chance, maybe, we can figure things out together. I’m not sure what I want from you, but I know that I can’t get enough of you. And, I don’t know why. Maybe, it’s the way you look, or the way you taste, but whatever it is, it has something to do with you. Your body is just as beautiful, if not more. You are just as irresistible, and your personality is just as alluring. So, how can I just walk away from that? How can I leave, when I don’t even want to?”

“What is it that you’re expecting from me, Gio? Huh? Do you want us to date, and have a relationship? What is it? Because if this is all just about sex, and you are looking for a quick fuck, then I can give you plenty of girls who would love to have a piece of you. I’m not fucking around with someone who fucks multiple other girls at the same time. I’m not looking for a fuck buddy, and I’m definitely not a whore. If that’s what you’re looking for, then go find someone else.”

“You don’t get it, Valerie. This is not just about sex. There is more. A lot more. But, I can’t tell you exactly what it is, because I’m not sure myself. But, we could try to figure this out together, right?”

“You are so fucking clueless, Giovanni. You can’t even explain the feelings you have for me, but you expect me to give you a chance. You don’t even know if there are actual feelings, or if it’s just some fucked up fantasy. No, Gio. I can’t do that. We had sex, and you left. You didn’t even stay long enough to have a conversation. Instead, you ran off, and acted like it never happened. And, now, you are telling me that there is something, but you aren’t sure. Do you see how fucking ridiculous you sound?”

I didn’t have a response.

“You’re right, Valerie. You’re completely right. I am a coward, and I am clueless. I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing. But, can you just give me a chance? That’s all I’m asking. We don’t have to date.”

“Giovanni, you’re hands down best lay I’ve had. But I take my body and my heart seriously. I’m a nurse, as you know. And I’ve had cases of people with sexually transmitted diseases. I stepped closer, and she backed away, shaking her head.

“No, Gio. Stay away from me. I’m done, and I mean it.”

I stepped forward, and she took a step back, and kept walking until her back hit the counter.

“Valerie, I’m not going to fuck you and leave you. You need to believe me.”

“No, Giovanni. I’m done with you. Now, get the hell out of here, and don’t ever come back.”

I placed my hands on either side of her, trapping her against the counter, and looked down at her.

“Why are you being like this? What is the problem, huh? Am I not good enough for you, and not worthy of a second chance?”

Without giving her a response, I brought her body close, and claimed her lips.

A startled gasp escaped her mouth, and her body stiffened. It took her a few moments to respond, but her lips eventually moved against mine.

Her body relaxed, and her hands came up around my neck. My tongue pushed against her lips, and she opened them willingly.

Our tongues collided, and her moans echoed through the air. She grabbed my shirt, and I thought she was going to push me away. But instead, she pulled me closer and I grabbed her, and placed her on the

counter.

My lips trailed down her jaw, and onto her neck. Her skin tasted delicious, and the sounds she was making were music to my ears.

“Oh, Giovanni.”

I grabbed her face, and pulled her closer, kissing her harder. My hands were gripping her thighs, and her legs were wrapped around me.

“Oh, God. Giovanni.”
