CHAPTER EIGHTY-EIGHT
YASMINE
Living with humans was the worst thing that could ever happen to a werewolf. From their unclean streets, factories noise pollution, air pollution, and the smell, the city was the worst place for a
werewolf. But, it was a necessary sacrifice.
After the banishment, we had no choice. There was no other place we could stay, and this was the safest place. And even though it was the most disgusting place to live, this was where I could hide.
It’s been a week since I moved into the apartment with my mother. We had been ignoring each other since the last altercation we had, and she was yet to move out from my apartment.
My mother and I never had a mother/daughter bond, more like a beneficial relationship that worked for us. It was hard to live with her, and harder to keep up with the act. But, I had no other choice, and I wasn’t in a position to tell her to leave.
After all, I needed her.
For my plan. Whether she liked it or not.
“I’m going out. Do you need anything from the market?” My mother asked. And those were the first words we said to each other in a few days.
“No. I’m going out tonight. Don’t wait up for me. Not like you would, anyway.”
“Just so we’re clear, you’re not kicking me out of the house, so don’t get the wrong idea.”
“Mother, please. This conversation is pointless. Just go ahead and pretend like nothing happened. You’re good at that.”
“Whatever. I’m leaving. If you’re hungry, cook something.”
“Don’t worry. The last thing I’d want to eat is your food. You’re horrible at it anyway. Would save me the trip to the hospital.”
She rolled her eyes, and slammed the door.
Good riddance.
Now, where were we?
I opened the old book, and started flipping the pages.
It’s been days since my mother dropped the bombshell on me. But, I knew this wouldn’t have
happened.

The moment. Hailey decided to walk back in his life, and take away my spot, she became the enemy. She decided to set herself up for whatever I was going to unleash on her if she thought she could play with a witch and get away unscathed.
If she thought she could play around and take away what was mine, she had another thing coming. Because, I would never give up. I would never let go.
Never.
She would pay, and her time was running out. I could imagine her right now. She probably thought it was over. She’s probably over the moon, relaxed that she finally got her happy ending, probably thinking that she’s won.
Well, news flash.
It’s not over, and I’m just getting started.
I had the perfect plan. One that would make her life a living hell, and she would lose everything.
All in one night.
And no matter how many times I looked for it, the spell wasn’t there. Which meant, it had to be
somewhere else.
Decades ago, finding a spell on how to kill werewolves was very easy. Easy peasy. But after signing a truce to live peacefully amongst each other’s there and not to attack each other’s pack, they banned the usage of the killing spells.
Well, most of the witches were on board.
But, there were a few who didn’t want to give up. And, they hid some spells, and the knowledge was passed down from generation to generation.
The spell was hidden by a spell. It was that serious. Witches hatred for werewolves ran very deep and for werewolves to fully trust that they won’t turn around and stab them in the back, the spell was kept hidden.
A few witches had access to the spell, and could use it if they needed it.
So, all I had to do was find the person who had the book.
The problem was, there were very few people who had access to it, and I had no idea where to start. Finding a witch who has the spell was one hard job, but finding a witch who has the spell and is willing to give it up, was almost impossible.
Most of the witches hated the idea of the spell being used and didn’t have any intention of letting anyone get a hold of it.

CHAPTER EIGHTY EIGHT
Unless, you paid the right price.
Witchcraft was all about bartering. You give them what they want, and they will give you what you
want. It was simple, and easy.
Except, I didn’t know the price.
And I didn’t know who to contact.
I groaned, dropping the book.
Why was nothing going my way?
