Against Cruelty, She Grew Strong (by Anastasia Glover) novel Chapter 653

Chapter 653 A Finger In The Box

Before long, Tatiana realized that Liam was messaging her less often

It wasn’t that he’d gone silent entirely–it was the frequency that had dropped

Even the whole “let me meet the kid” topic had been pushed aside.

That clearly meant something had come up.

Great news!

But on the flip side, Foster’s side still hadn’t yielded any results.

They couldn’t be sure they’d crack it.

And even if they did, they didn’t know if the data inside would actually be useful.

Everything was still up in the air.

Meanwhile, Tatiana finally met Faye–the very woman Jasper had been hunting for all this time.

She was so thoroughly disguised that nobody would recognize her original face.

From her, Tatiana learned more about the Langstrom family’s dark history. Her only thought was: they deserve to burn.

That soft–spoken, mild–mannered Jack was nothing but a monster in human skin.

Jasper’s voice was laced with worry, “I really don’t want you staying tangled up with the Langstroms. Jack’s methods are far too dirty.”

Tatiana drew a long breath, “No–compared to me, you’re the one in real danger. He’s been looking for you nonstop. And me? As far as he’s concerned, I’m the perfect future wife for his son.”

Jasper’s face turned green with frustration.

Tatiana fought back a smirk, feeling slightly lighter. She even found a moment to call fammy.

Wanted to check in on her.

But Tammy’s phone kept going to voicemail.

Frowning, she tried Lucas instead.

And his line was dead too!

A kriot of worry started forming in her chest.

And on top of that, she couldn’t just drop everything and go–so she dispatched someone immediately

Over in Bellwood.

Tammy woke up tied to a chair, surrounded by the wreckage of an old factory warehouse.

Her head was still throbbing.

“Tammy.”

She looked up and saw Lucas bound across from her.

Both of them were tied up tight.

By who?”
