Even In Darkness, She Chose to Rise
Chapter 655 Turning The Tables
He was genuinely terrified terrified that his very existence might bring harm to Tammy.
Thank goodness…
Thank goodness it hadn’t come to that yet
Thank goodness…
Having narrowly escaped disaster, all that remained was a burning fury, raging for in his chest.
He never imagined John would push things this far.
He’d already walked away from the family empire, abandoned everything, taken nothing-and in return, his brother only grew bolder!
“What do we do with them?”
Tammy nudged one of the fallen men with her foot.
Terror filled every single one of their eyes.
They’d all witnessed that deadly kick-they could barely keep themselves from crossing their legs.
This insane woman! She actually dared!
“Out here in the middle of nowhere, if they die, we just dig a hole and bury ’em. Bit of a hassle, but nothing too crazy.”
Killing didn’t weigh on Tammy’s conscience. She hadn’t been raised in any normal, civilized society-she had no built-in restraints. The only reason she didn’t kill was simply because Tatiana had told her not to.
Murder is against the law-if you get caught, you go to prison.
Which really just meant: as long as nobody finds out, you’re good.
She was already running through scenarios in her head on how to get away with it.
Lucas held her back, “No need to get your hands dirty.”
Too many bodies. If they all died, covering it up would inevitably leave traces.
He didn’t want Tammy getting pulled into that mess.
“Leave this to me.”
Tammy gave up without a fight, “Fine”
She couldn’t be bothered anyway.
Lucas slowly turned his gaze toward John-and this time, his eyes weren’t gentle at all. They were razor- sharp.
Some things-even if you don’t fight for them, they’re still your fault.
If that’s the case, then fight he would!
In the final stretch of his life, a fierce determination suddenly ignited inside him.
After John was rushed to the hospital, they saved his life-but his manhood was gone for good. No different from a eunuch of old.
When John came to, he had no idea what had been taken from him. He was still screaming bloody murder, swearing he’d kill Lucas, causing chaos in the ward.
Then he felt the urge to pee, and a nurse helped him to the bathroom. The moment he saw the wound down there, he passed out cold.
When he woke again, Lucas was sitting right there by his bed, peeling an apple with infuriating calm. “Lucas! How dare you do this to me!”
He kept peeling, one eyebrow raised, “Do what to you?”
John couldn’t bring himself to say the rest, but his eyes were practically screaming murder.
“Don’t get too cocky! I will end you!”
Lucas suddenly smiled, “John, is it because you know I’m sick that you think you can push me around?”
