Alpha Damien's Trouble Maker (by Ruby Anne) novel Chapter 237

Chapter 237

Sienna

I bit my lip hard, trying to keep myself from trembling visibly as the weight of everything crashed down on me. To make it even worse, three broadshouldered figures stepped into the garden, their presence immediately commanding the entire space. I looked up and saw them, my brothers, Ian, Cross, and Kane. They walked in with steady, powerful steps, their eyes scanning the scene before them without any visible shock at seeing the Alpha, the Luna, the elders, or even our parents already present.

They barely spared me a glance. Their eyes passed over me as if I were nothing more than background scenery, and that hurt far more than anything else in this moment. Even Kane, the brother who used to dote on me the most, looked away without a single word of concern. It felt like a knife twisting in my chest.

They turned their attention to Emma’s broken body on the ground. Surprise flashed across Kane and Cross’s faces for a brief second, but Ian remained completely calm, studying the mangled corpse with the cold, analytical gaze of someone trying to figure out exactly what kind of weapon or power could have caused such destruction. From the way he looked at it, I could tell he hadn’t yet found his answers.

After a long, heavy silence, Ian was the first to speak. His lips curled up slightly as he said in a low, almost impressed tone, I knew she was going to be dangerous.

Kane looked at him, swallowing hard before asking, Was she the one that did this?

Everyone in the garden turned to look at me, their eyes expectant, waiting for my answer. My hands clenched tightly at my sides, my breathing coming out shallow and fast. I didn’t want any of them to know just how powerful Selene had become, but I couldn’t lie, there were too many witnesses. So I had no choice but to twist the truth and make her power sound like a curse rather than a miracle.

I looked down at the ground, forcing my voice to tremble as I spoke. II don’t know. It was so fast. All I knew was Selene suddenly appearing here. I was so surprised but happy to see her…. but before I could even say anything, she wanted to kill me. My maid tried to protect me, so she killed her instead. I was so scared, I thought she would kill me too.

I lowered my voice even more, making it sound fragile and terrified. I glanced at the women who had been with me earlier, but none of them dared to contradict me. They stayed silent, too afraid of me to speak the truth. They knew it was safer to stay on my side after everything they had done to bully Selene in the past.

My mother rushed over and pulled me into a tight hug. Oh my Goddess, my dear Sienna. You must have been so scared. That bitch! She is using her Moonborn powers to kill people.”

I shook my head against her shoulder, still playing the victim. II don’t think it’s Moonborn powers

The words hung in the air as I clung to my mother, my mind racing. I had to turn this around. I had to make sure everyone saw Selene as the monster. Because if they started believing she was the true Moonborn, everything I had built would come crashing down. And I couldn’t let that happen.

Everyone in the garden turned their eyes toward me, their gazes expectant, waiting for my explanation. The Alpha’s voice cut through the tense silence like a blade as he asked calmly but dangerously, And why is that?

I looked reluctant, biting my lip and lowering my gaze as if I still cared about my sister, as if it pained me to speak badly about her. After a moment of hesitation, I spoke in a soft, trembling voice, Because I could feel it, Alphait feels like black magic.”

The air in the garden turned colder instantly. My stepmother gasped loudly, her face twisting with outrage as she snapped, I knew something was off! That witch is using black magic! How dare she! She should be killed for this. What nonsense-

A hard, resounding slap echoed through the garden, cutting her off midsentence. My stepmother stumbled backward and fell to the ground, clutching her reddened cheek in shock. Everyone froze, staring in disbelief. Even I was stunned as I turned to see Kane standing there, his face red with anger, his hand still raised from the slap he had just delivered to our stepmother.

Kane had always been the one who doted on me the most. He rarely spoke to our stepmother and had never disrespected her like this before. But now he had slapped her, all because of

that curse.

KaneI whispered, my voice barely audible.

His face was flushed with fury, his hand still burning from the force of the slap. He glared at our stepmother and shouted loud enough for everyone to hear, How dare you! How dare you accuse my sister of being a witch! She is the Moonborn, our blood sister. How dare you disrespect her like that!

Our stepmother and father looked utterly shocked, their eyes wide as they stared at him. My stepmother opened her mouth to argue, but she quickly shut it when she saw the death glares coming from Ian and Cross. She lowered her head immediately, trembling in fear. My father frowned deeply and pointed at Kane, his voice shaking with anger. How could you slap your mother? Are you insane?

Kane looked like he wanted to say more, but Cross spoke first, his voice lazy yet dripping with authority. Being a witch is a crime punishable by death. Your wife just called our sister a witch. Can she back that up? She is lucky it was only a slap. If I had my way, I would kill her.
