Alpha Damien's Trouble Maker (by Ruby Anne) novel Chapter 238

Chapter 238

Sienna

Everyone in the garden stood frozen in utter shock at the Alpha’s words, even the Luna looked surprised for a brief moment. My eyes widened in disbelief as the realization hit me like a slap across the face, the Alpha was clearly taking her side. The only reason he didn’t punish me directly was because I was now the Prince’s mate, but he still made an example out of my mother without hesitation.

My mother’s face turned deathly pale as she shook her head frantically, trying to beg for mercy, but the royal guards were already moving toward her with efficiency. They grabbed her arms and began dragging her away as she screamed and pleaded desperately, her voice echoing through the garden, but no one stepped forward to help her. Not even my father. He simply looked away, his face tight, because he only cared about his precious reputation above everything else.

Ian looked bored with the entire situation and finally spoke, his voice cold as ice as he turned his gaze toward me. “Where did she go?”

I couldn’t meet his eyes. Fear gripped my throat so tightly that I looked away, my voice coming out small and shaky. “I-I don’t know. She just went with Princess Avery.”

No one wasted any more time here. The Alpha, Luna, and the elders turned around, ready to leave and search for her themselves. But just as they began to move, they all stopped suddenly, their eyes fixed on the new figure who had appeared at the garden entrance. My heart dropped into my stomach when I saw him.

A-Adrian…

Prince Adrian stood there, still shirtless and covered in sweat from training, his beta breathing hard beside him as if they had run all the way here. Adrian’s eyes swept over the scene before landing on me. I shook my head desperately, silently begging him not to do this, not to humiliate me in front of everyone. But he didn’t even seem to notice my plea. He turned around, clearly intending to go look for her.

Without thinking, I ran forward and grabbed his hand tightly, shaking my head frantically. “No. No, Adrian, don’t go. You can’t go. I’m your mate now. You marked me. She is no longer your mate,” I said, my voice urgent and ugly, all traces of my usual sweet and innocent tone completely gone.

Everyone turned to look at me, but I no longer cared. I couldn’t lose Adrian.

Adrian’s voice was cold as he tried to pull his hand away. “Let me go. She is my mate.”

I held on tighter, my desperation turning into something vicious. “No! She is not your mate!

I’m your mate. Are you even sure you want her as your mate? She has been away for a long time. Who knows where she has been?! She could have even lost her virginity and given it to another man. Maybe many men have been inside her already. You have no idea. Do want someone as dirty as that?”

you still

The words spilled out of me like poison, loud enough for everyone to hear. I didn’t care anymore. I just needed him to stay with me.

Adrian paused, his jaw ticking visibly as my words sank in, and for a split second I thought I had gotten through to him. But then Kane’s voice cut through the air behind me. “Watch your mouth, Sienna.”

I turned to him, my voice rising with desperation. “What? You know I’m right. You all know I’m right. Selene is different now. She is not the same. Someone like her would ruin everything we have, Adrian.”

Adrian finally sighed, as if I were nothing more than an annoyance he could no longer tolerate. He turned to look at me, his eyes meeting mine directly. I smiled at him, hoping that he would agree with me, that he still loved me, that he would choose me. But his next words poured a bucket of ice-cold water over all my hopes and dreams.

“Don’t be mistaken, Sienna,” he said, his voice flat and emotionless. “We didn’t have anything before. You’re just someone I felt responsible for. Selene is my mate. I don’t care what anyone says or what happened to her or who has touched her. She belongs to me.”

He pulled his hand away from mine without hesitation and turned around, walking away as if I meant nothing to him. I stood there, frozen, my heart shattering into pieces as I watched his back disappear. Ian and Cross followed him immediately, their expressions cold and indifferent, not even sparing me a single glance. Kane looked at me for a brief moment, and for a second I thought he might comfort me like he used to, but he simply turned and walked away too, leaving me standing there alone.

One by one, everyone followed. The Alpha, the Luna, the elders, even my own father, they all left without looking back at me, their faces tight as if they had far more important things to worry about. The noblewomen left last, throwing mocking glances my way as they whispered among themselves. One of them even muttered loud enough for me to hear, “Serve her right. Next time she won’t think she is above everyone.”
