I pause, I’ve been against my will up to date with everything going on between him, Noah and Danielle, but now I’m out of the loop, and it feels wrong. “There’s another thing?”
“Yeah,” his tone drops. “I fucked up.”
“What did you do?”
“Noah is thinking about leaving, the house and possibly the pack,” he sighs. “She doesn’t know I heard it.”
“Why the hell are you in her head?” I raise an eyebrow. He has been listening to her thoughts for too long, in the beginning, he could shut her out, but that bond seems to be sealing on its own. “I told you to stay out of there, or she’ll think you’re manipulating her.”
“She lets me in.”
“She doesn't know she’s doing it,” I tsk, smacking him upside his head. “Why don’t you teach her how to block you? It's been what? Three weeks?”
“More or less.” He shrugs. “Can you tell Ellie to convince her to stay?”
“We are not getting involved.”
“Kingston.”
I shrug. I’m not getting involved in this, not after I made a fuss to Aeliana about her being overly invested in their relationship. “Why don’t you just tell her about the bond? She’ll be angry for a minute, but she’ll understand why you didn’t say anything. She’ll come back.”
“This is Noah we’re talking about,” he snickers. “If she leaves the house, she’s never looking back.” He confidently tells me, worry flickering in his gaze. “I told her I loved her and she freaked out.”
I nod, “I too would freak out if some random hookup was telling me she loves me too.”
He winces, “I’m not a random hookup.”
“Then fucking tell her?” I groan. This matter is way simpler than he makes it out to be. “Jesus Christ, Rowan, did you lose your balls inside her?” I snarl. “Man up and tell her…” I trail off, catching myself a second too late. I’m taking my frustrations out on him, frustrations with the council. “Okay, I may have gone overboard there.”
“You think?” He frowns.
“Definitely, but why don’t you have a sit-down with her?”
“I don’t think she’s ready.” He sighs. “If I sit her down, I’ll have to tell her everything.”
“What's the big deal?” My head tilts, studying him. There’s no reason for him to be scared of Noah. “It’s not like you—No!” My eyes widen at the realisation. So that's why the blocking veil thinned.
“Yeah,” He nods.
