Chapter 68

It was 7 pm and people had started to trickle in. I looked through the

stage curtains to see tables had filled up and people were walking

around mixing and mingling. Seth and I had just finished sorting

through all the donated items that were going to auctioned here

tonight.

“I’m going to tell you again, girl you look fine,” Seth said for the

5th time as he moved stuff around on the table.

“Thanks, Seth. You don’t need to keep telling me you know.” I

laughed.

“Oh I know, but after you go out there, others will so I’m getting a

head start. I do have a question though” He rubbed his chin and

narrowed his eyes at me.

“That gorgeous ring on your finger, is that just a fake piece of

jewellery to match your dress or is there a reason you’re wearing it on

that particular finger?”

After I had taken my top off, I was very aware that the ring was obvious. I flipped the diamond around and kept my left hand hidden

my dress so Sarah and Lilly didn’t notice it. However, in the last

hour, I had to use my left hand a lot and I knew Seth would see it.

Chapter 68

“Rosy, Blake is here. He’s looking for you out the front.” Claire

walked over to us. She was one of Seth’s staff. Thank god for Claire.

“Okay, thank you. Gotta go, Seth. Thank you once again for the

amazing job you’ve done. I’ll see you a little later on.” I grabbed my

clutch straighten my dress. I was just going to ignore Seth’s question.

I took a deep breathe in and looked towards the corridor. Here

goes nothing.

I walked around the back of the stage and down the side corridor

towards the main foyer. As I got closer I could see a sea of people

talking to each other. I looked around trying to find Blake or any of

the Coopers. I heard my name and turned around to find Emily.

“Rosy, wow you look amazing.” She said giving me a quick hug and

a kiss on the cheek.

“Come on, they are all down here” she grabbed my hand and

towed me to the other end of the foyer.

Sue was the first to come into view. Next to her was Nate. Sue had

a black cocktail dress on that was hugging her figure. It had one of

queen anna necklines with black beads around the bottom.

“Mum, look who I found,” Emily said getting everyone’s attention.

“Ahh Rosy. Look at you, sweet heart! Absolutely stunning. You my

girl are going to be breaking hearts tonight. Oh, here I have something for you.” She pulled out a long jewellery box from her

purse and handed it to me.

I opened it and in the cushion sat a gorgeous diamond necklace. It

was all little diamonds end to end. Before I could say anything, Emily

grabbed the necklace and put it around my neck.

“Oh, no no. Sue, I can’t take this. It’s very generous of you but I

can not accept it”

“Yes, you can. It was my mother’s and I was told to hand it down.

So, it’s yours now. Besides, it goes so well with your dress.” She took

the box from my hands and put it back in her bag.

“Rosalie, you look gorgeous Hunny. Blake is one lucky asshole”

Nate said and walked over to give me a side hug.

“Thank you, Nate. Thank you, Sue. I really don’t deserve this

necklace though.” I touched the diamonds with my fingers and prayed

I was dreaming.

“Nonsense. It looks beautiful on you. Totally fitting” Emily said
