Am I A Good Girl novel Chapter 9

Chapter 9

Kenneth spent three days in a daze, drinking at home nonstop.

Lenora was scared, but she didn’t dare approach him.

Although she was just a child, she could sense that something must have happened at home.

And the one in trouble was her mother.

But Lenora didn’t want to believe it. She hadn’t even had the chance to tell her mother that she got first place in her class…

Lenora wanted to cry, but she couldn’t shed any tears.

All she could do was stare blankly at Kenneth as he drowned himself in alcohol.

After Kenneth downed his last glass, the phone rang. It was a strange number.

He hung up and continued drinking, but the phone rang again.

Kenneth paused, then answered. On the other end was a woman’s voice, cold as ice.

“Is this Mr. Kenneth, husband of Angelique?”

“I am Rosalie, Angelique’s attorney. Please bring your identification and all family members to the

law firm.”

“Angelique left a will, and everyone must be present to comply with it in person.”

Hearing Angelique’s name, Kenneth sobered up halfway in an instant.

A will?

Kenneth didn’t have time to think. He rushed to the bathroom to wash up quickly.

He then notified Eduardo and Sandra, as well as Catherine, who had just been discharged from the hospital. Together, they hurried to the law firm.

Rosalie was in her office, reviewing Angelique’s belongings one more time before her death.

In Angelique’s final moments, she handed Rosalie a note. On it was a single sentence: “I have prepared everything. After I die, you will handle everything for me.”

On the back of the note, Angelique instructed her to thoroughly investigate Catherine.

Rosalie glanced at the file folder beside her, which was filled with information about Catherine,

Rosalie pressed her reddened eyes for a moment, composed herself, and then opened the office door. Outside, Kenneth and the others were already waiting.

The woman supporting Eduardo and Sandra was Catherine.

A flash of coldness appeared in Rosalie’s eyes. She turned and motioned for everyone to come in, then opened Angelique’s will.

Sandra was stunned for a moment when she saw Rosalie, then a glimmer of hope appeared in her

eyes.

“You are… you’re Angie’s childhood friend? It’s been so many years, you’ve grown up so much!”

Kenneth was taken aback and looked at Rosalie. No wonder she seemed so familiar-she was Angelique’s childhood friend, Rosalie.

Back when Kenneth was pursuing Angelique, the person who opposed him the most was Rosalie.

She had openly stated that she didn’t believe Kenneth could make Angelique happy.

Her words had become a prophecy. Thinking back now, Kenneth felt a sense of shame.

But Rosalie ignored Sandra’s words and simply looked at the people in front of her.

These people were all, step by step, the culprits who had driven Angelique to her death. How could she not hate them?

“I am Angelique’s attorney, Rosalie. Angelique passed away from organ failure due to late-stage cancer at 8:12 p.m. on November 24th.”

“Before her death, Angelique entrusted me to draft three agreements, all of which take effect after her passing.”

After Rosalie finished speaking, Catherine froze in place, her heart sinking heavily.

Before she could react, Rosalie’s sharp, icy gaze landed on Catherine.

“Angelique’s will mentions that she had signed a shop transfer agreement, a company ownership delegation agreement, and a property transfer agreement.”

“None of these three were the true wishes of the testator, and Angelique set a valid period for revoking the transfer rights. All rights are revoked upon her death!”

“Therefore, the three agreements that were supposed to transfer assets to Catherine are invalid!”

Catherine suddenly looked up. “Why?!”

Her voice was so loud that Eduardo, Sandra, and Kenneth all turned to look at her.

Realizing her loss of composure, Catherine could only force herself to suppress her anger and managed a strained smile.

“What I mean is, these three agreements were specially approved by Mom and Dad, so Angelique could transfer them to me.”

“If she just says the agreements are invalid, isn’t that… isn’t that a slap in the face to Mom and Dad…?”

Catherine’s voice grew softer and softer, because she realized Rosalie was looking at her with a cold sneer.

Rosalie stepped forward, looking at these people who claimed to be Angelique’s family.

“The testator left a will before her death, instructing me to investigate all of Catherine’s background. In these seven days, I found a lot.”

“Catherine, this is also why I had to delay for seven days.”

Sandra looked up in confusion.

“What did you find? Could it be that Angie’s death is related to Cathy?”

“But didn’t Angie die of cancer?”
