Amnesia Erased Luna's Pain and Love novel Chapter 1

Florence Wraith had been the Luna of the Nightfang Pack for three years. In that time, she had tried to take her own life 143 times.

And now, once again, she opened her eyes in a hospital bed, her mind blank—utterly void of memory.

Sitting beside her was a middle-aged couple who called themselves her parents. The woman scowled the moment Florence stirred. "Florence, how long are you going to keep this up?

"The truth is, Baldwin was always in love with Ursa. If the Moon Goddess hadn't declared you his fated mate, he never would've married you," the woman said, clearly irritated. "He doesn't love you. Of course he doesn't come home. And you? Keep trying to kill yourself just to get his attention. But tell me, after all those attempts, has he ever shown up?"

The man—her supposed father—sighed, heavy with disappointment. "We're both beta warriors. How did we end up with a daughter like you? An omega who doesn't even value her life? The Moon Goddess should've chosen Ursa for Baldwin. Not you. You're too weak to be worthy of an alpha."

Florence stared at them, confused and numb.

She didn't remember who she was—nothing at all. All she had to go on were the harsh words of the people who claimed to be her parents, trying to piece together a shattered life from their contempt.

From their cruel reminders, she learned she'd once been their baby daughter until she was taken from the pack at the age of three. When she was finally found at 13 and brought home, everything had changed. They'd already adopted another girl. Ursa Wraith. Her parents—no, their loyalty—had shifted entirely to the adopted daughter. The love that should've been hers was now Ursa's.

And Baldwin Storm, the man Florence had fallen in love with—his heart had also belonged to Ursa.

She watched him fall in love with Ursa, while her feelings remained unspoken. But everything changed the day she turned 18. Her wolf awakened; she felt the unmistakable bond. Baldwin was her fated mate.

Tradition bound Baldwin to her. The ancient law of the Nightfang Pack required all alphas to accept the match chosen by the Moon Goddess. Only through that bond could an alpha unlock their full strength to protect the pack.

So, Baldwin left Ursa and married her.

But from the moment they wed, he made no secret of his resentment. He refused to accept her as his true partner, pouring all his coldness and hostility onto her.

Unloved by her parents, rejected by her mate—Florence drowned in hopelessness. Suicide was never truly about dying—it was a desperate scream for someone to finally see her.

The scars on her wrists weren't just wounds. They were proof of a soul screaming for recognition.

But all they earned her was more bitterness, more rejection.

Even her wolf had grown weaker over time, drained by the heartbreak she couldn't escape.

"That's enough. We have to go back and make dinner for Ursa now." Her parents stood, not a trace of concern in their eyes. "You stay here and really think about what you've done."

The door closed with a sharp click, and Florence felt pain shot through her chest—so sharp it nearly took her breath away.

She had no memories. And yet the feeling of being utterly abandoned was all too real. Deep inside, her wolf whimpered softly.

Why would anyone choose to love a foster daughter over their own blood? Just because I'd gone missing for ten years?

And Baldwin ...

He chose me. He was the one who turned away from his first love, seeking the power of a bonded mate.

He was the one who announced to the pack that I'm his Luna.

So why wouldn't he mark me?

Why did he use his indifference like a weapon and drive me to despair?

Her hands clenched. Every detail of this unfamiliar past clawed at her heart like a dull knife.

What kind of girl had she been before this memory loss? How had she endured such loneliness, such rejection, every single day?

Florence dragged herself out of bed and checked out of the hospital.

But once she stepped outside, she froze. She had no idea where to go.

Her wolf was silent and refused to interact. Her mind was blank. She couldn't remember where her parents lived. Couldn't recall where Baldwin's house was either.

Even if she could, neither of them wanted her back.

Just then, a wave of commotion broke out at the hospital entrance. The air shifted with the overwhelming dominance of a high-ranking wolf.

Florence looked up. A tall man in a sleek black suit strode toward the doors, cradling a frail woman in his arms.

His every movement screamed alpha—broad shoulders, commanding presence, breathtakingly handsome.

The way he held the girl was careful and protective. Her pale face pressed against his chest. His arm curled tightly around her, his head tilted slightly as he looked down at her with an expression so tender it burned. Even his steps were measured, as if afraid to jostle her.

"Move," he said calmly, but with an alpha's innate authority.

The crowd parted without question.
