"No way…" Madison refused to believe a single word Sienna said. Maybe she just didn't want to.
Her eyes were red as she muttered, "Sam's gonna show up. He'll see me. If I wait for him, he'll come. I know he will."
Seeing how stubborn Madison was, Sienna snorted in response. "Fine. Do whatever you want."
She didn't mention that Sam had already taken a flight to Marowa two hours ago.
Madison ignored her and stayed right where she was, still waiting for Sam.
Right then, her phone started ringing. She snatched it up, but the moment she saw the caller ID, the spark in her eyes went out.
It wasn't Sam. It was Eric, the new butler at Oceanview Villa.
"Ms. Quinn, someone from Northcrest Villa just dropped off a truckload of luggage. They said Mr. Goodwin told them to bring your things back here."
Madison's phone slipped from her hand and hit the ground with a loud clatter. She froze, staring ahead as her mind went blank.
Sam had ordered her belongings sent back to Oceanview Villa. He had never done that before.
Was he really done with her? No. She refused to believe that!
Madison bit down hard on her lip, telling herself this wasn't real, but she couldn't stop shaking. Her body betrayed everything she was trying to hide.
On the other end, Eric waited, then called out, "Ms. Quinn? Ms. Quinn? That's strange. The line's still on, but no one's talking. Should I hang up and call again?"
The call ended. Then, her phone started ringing again immediately.
The sound yanked Madison out of it, and she forced herself to steady her breathing. Finally, she bent down to pick up her phone and answered again.
"Ms. Quinn."
"Eric, don't touch the luggage. I'm heading to Northcrest Villa to see what's going on."
"Got it," Eric said, then hung up.
Madison slipped her phone into her pocket. She glanced up at Goodwin Corp's building one last time before turning and walking away.
If Sienna was right and Sam wasn't coming here, Madison would wait for him at Northcrest Villa instead.
Sam's parents had set up Northcrest Villa for him and his future wife. Since the villa belonged to him, Madison refused to believe he would stay away from it just to avoid her.
Behind her, a few Goodwin Corp employees watched her leave and started whispering again.
"So she's just walking off? Guess she wasn't really here to apologize."
