Chapter 349
Xylia was stubborn, and Eliza had no way to make her budge.
But Xylia couldn’t just sit there forever.

Eliza used some cash to buy a soft little bed and placed it right next to Joshua’s private room, so Xylia could sleep there.
Aaron also came in to see Joshua.
Aaron, always so strict, actually had tears in his eyes as he realized he’d gotten his son back.
He didn’t linger in the room. After saying a few words, he stepped out.
Now, he needed to find out exactly what had happened to Joshua.
Once the child woke up, Eliza brought them over too.
Maybe when Joshua wakes up and sees you and the child together, it’ll help him remember everything,” Eliza said softly.
Her words drifted into Xylia’s ears.
Xylia looked at Eliza, confused. “What do you mean, help him remember?”
Eliza’s hand stilled.
she’d just heard Kaden say outside that Joshua might have lost his memory.
This had Noelle written all over it.
Otherwise, knowing Joshua, if he was still breathing, he’d drag himself home just to let everyone know he was okay.
She gently took Xylia’s hand, her eyes aching with concern for her, and told Xylia everything that had just happened outside he room.
Xylia, don’t stress. With all the medical tech these days, once Joshua wakes up, the doctors can run some tests. Maybe they’ll help him get his memories back,” Eliza said softly.
After hearing Eliza’s words, Xylia didn’t show much emotion.
She quietly gazed at Joshua’s face as he lay in the hospital bed.
Her anxious heart calmed down as soon as she saw him.
Xylia said softly, “It’s okay. Even if he can’t remember, it doesn’t matter. As long as he’s safe, that’s all I care about.”
Having him back, safe and sound, right here with her–that was all she ever wanted.
Eliza looked at Xylia, her heart aching for her.
Why do they have to go through so much? Eliza thought, feeling a pang of sorrow.
Kaden had his bodyguards stationed outside the hospital room, keeping watch.
Xylia stayed in the hospital room, while Eliza headed back to the villa that night, already thinking about cooking up

something nutritious for them the next day.
Joshua slept for ages this time.
In his dreams, he could hear a woman’s gentle voice calling out to him from the darkness.
It was so familiar, it made his heart ache.
A sudden flash of white light pulled him out of the dream, and Joshua finally opened his eyes.
Xylia hadn’t gotten any rest.
The child was being looked after by someone else, so she didn’t have much else to worry about.
Eliza had practically forced her to lie down and rest for a bit that afternoon, but she wasn’t sleepy at all now.
She just kept vigil by Joshua’s bedside.

She was still giving Joshua’s cheek a little squeeze, complaining under her breath about why he was taking so long to wake
But in the very next moment, his eyelashes fluttered, and he slowly opened his eyes.
Xylia could barely contain her excitement.
“You’re awake?” she blurted out, her voice trembling with excitement.
Just as Joshua started to come to, a soft, pleasant female voice drifted to his ears.
His eyes followed the sound and landed on Xylia, who was sitting right by his bedside.
She wore a hat, her tiny, delicate face framed by smooth skin and exquisitely sculpted features.
She was the most beautiful woman in his memory.
He stared at her, his voice barely audible and raspy as he uttered his very first words since waking up. “Who are you?”
She thought she was ready for this, but when Joshua asked that question, Xylia’s heart still ached a little.
Still, she quickly steadied herself.
She reached out and gently held Joshua’s hand, her voice soft. “I’m your wife.”
Joshua went rigid all over.
His expression was as if he’d just been hit by a bolt of lightning.
He stared blankly at Xylia for a few seconds, his fingers twitching in resistance, trying to pull his hand away from hers.
Xylia’s fingertips quivered. Afraid Joshua might hurt her, she let go of his hand first
Joshua shot Xylia a guarded glance.
“Just who are you?” he demanded, his voice cold and suspicious.
Her heart clenched.

Chapter 349
Seeing Joshua’s guarded look, it hurt more than she could say.
All these years together, he’d never looked at her like that–so cold, so distant.
Her eyes filled with tears, about to spill over any second.
Seeing Xylia like that, Joshua felt a sharp pang in his chest.
His whole body already ached, but seeing her like this made it hurt even more.
He didn’t know why, but watching this woman cry just tore him up inside.
He let the questions go and changed the subject.
‘Noelle–where is she?” Joshua demanded, his voice still hoarse and cold.

Xylia turned away, quickly wiping her tears before facing Joshua again. “You… you want to see her?” she asked, her voice trembling.
Joshua gave a curt “Yeah.”
He could sense that Xylia wasn’t out to hurt him, so he let his guard down a little.
Of course, even if she was up to something, in his current state, there wasn’t much he could do except wait for the worst.
Honestly, he was feeling absurdly chill right now.
Instead of answering, Xylia shot back, “What’s your relationship with Noelle?”
Her tone was so sharp, it was just like a wife grilling her husband for cheating.
Joshua suddenly felt a wave of guilt for no reason at all.
But he quickly reminded himself, ‘Why should I feel guilty? I don’t even know her.’
‘She’s my girlfriend,” Joshua said bluntly, not even bothering to hide his indifference.
“Bullshit!” Xylia fired back, her voice ringing with pure outrage.
He barely got the words out before Xylia cut him off hard.
Joshua looked at Xylia, confused.
Xylia leaned in, her face just inches from his, getting right in his face.
“Okay, so you forgot me, I can deal with that. But now you’re sitting here, telling me some other woman is your girlfriend. Joshua, how can you treat me like this?!” she snapped, her voice sharp with anger.
She’d already made peace with the fact that if Joshua didn’t remember her, she could live with it.
As long as he was safe, that was all that mattered.
