Chapter 350
Xylia wasn’t in any rush, but Joshua was restless.
Being kept in the dark made him feel like he was just floating, with nothing to hold onto–completely uneasy.
He wanted to press for more answers.
But when he met Xylia’s gentle gaze, the words just died in his throat–he couldn’t get a single word out.
His eyelids grew heavy.

All the walls he’d put up since losing his memory finally came down in that moment, and he slowly closed his eyes, slipping back into sleep.
Once Joshua was asleep, Xylia tucked him in, grabbed her phone, and walked over to the window to call Kaden.
It was already the middle of the night, but Kaden was still awake.
When he saw Xylia’s name pop up on his screen, he answered right away.
“Hey, sis, what’s up?” Kaden said.
Xylia spoke in a hushed tone, “Kaden, Joshua just woke up a little while ago. He really doesn’t remember me at all, and he even said Noelle is his girlfriend now. Do you think I could meet Noelle?”
Earlier this afternoon, Xylia had already figured Kaden would keep Noelle from seeing Joshua.
Now she didn’t even have Noelle’s number–Kaden was probably the only one who could help her out now.
Kaden shot her down without a second thought.
“No way. I’ll handle this with Uncle Aaron. Your only job right now is to get better. Stay out of everything else,” Kaden said.
“Kaden…” Xylia protested.
“Xylia, just listen to me,” Kaden insisted.
There was no room for argument in his voice.
Normally, Kaden would do anything for Xylia, but this time, he wasn’t budging at all.
In the end, Xylia had no choice but to give in.
Kaden said a few more reassuring words before hanging up.
Rosalind had been in Jupiton for a few days now.
She had a ton of work piling up and couldn’t afford to be away for too long, so she was getting her things together to head
back to Norhill ahead of schedule.
Kaden walked over to help her pack.
Kaden asked, “When are you heading back to Norhill?”

Rosalind was folding her clothes and packing them into her suitcase as she answered Kaden’s question.
Kaden glanced at the sparkling engagement ring on Rosalind’s finger, and the weight on his mind started to lift.
He’d proposed to Rosalind not long ago, and now they were busy planning their wedding.
He’d come to Norhill this time because Xylia was having a baby.
Since Joshua didn’t die after all, and there’s still this Noelle girl whose background he barely knows, Kaden figured he’d have to stick around in Jupiton for a few more days to keep Xylia safe.
“Cyrus and Leon are both swamped with work, and Hudson’s just not reliable. Someone’s gotta look out for Xylia,” Kaden said.
Kaden held Rosalind’s hand gently and reassured her, “Don’t worry, nothing’s going to delay our wedding.”
Rosalind pulled her hand away, pouting playfully.
“Come on, you really think that’s what I’m worried about? Xylia’s having a rough time right now. You’re her big brother–of course you should be helping her,” she teased.
Kaden knew that Rosalind truly liked Xylia, deep down in her heart.
Seeing the woman he loved care so much about his family–he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t touched.
Of course, that rush of excitement in his chest was real, too.
Suddenly, he grabbed Rosalind’s arm and pulled her closer to him.
Rosalind gasped in surprise, and when she looked up, she saw that the usually stoic look on his face had somehow been replaced by a sudden heat in his eyes.
His voice came out rough and deep.
“Your flight’s not until tomorrow afternoon. No need to rush packing just yet,” he said, voice thick with longing.
Rosalind opened her mouth to argue, but before she could say a word, his lips claimed hers, cutting off any protest.
After hanging up, Xylia walked back to Joshua’s bedside and sat down.
Her eyes were glued to his face, utterly mesmerized.
After a long moment, she took Joshua’s hand and gently snuggled up beside him.
Only then did she feel that deep sense of security she’d been craving
When Xylia woke up the next morning, she felt a bit off.
Her belly hurt, and she just felt uncomfortable.
She called the doctor over, and after checking her out, the doctor told her.
“You just gave birth, so take it easy. The pain in your stomach is your body’s way of warning you I’ll write you a prescription, but you need to stay in bed and rest for the next couple of days, the doctor said.

Xylia kept her head down, not daring to say a word as the doctor scolded her.
Once the doctor finished, she nodded, acting all obedient and saying she’d be careful.

Last night, she’d just wanted to lie next to Joshua for a bit before going to bed, but ended up falling asleep right there.
She woke up because she was cold.
Afraid something might be wrong with her body, she called the doctor in a hurry.
She couldn’t let herself break down now–she needed to be by Joshua’s side every moment.
While Xylia was talking to the doctor, Joshua groggily came to, still dazed and not fully awake.
After the doctor left, he turned his head to look at Xylia.
She was clearly uncomfortable, holding her stomach.
Her face was ghostly pale, with cold sweat beading on her forehead.
Out of nowhere, a sharp pang hit Joshua–seeing her hurting made his own heart twist with pain.
And somehow, that ache felt like it was multiplied, way more intense than anything he’d ever experienced.
Xylia was so caught up in her own discomfort, she didn’t even notice Joshua stirring. She was just about to climb into bed when his raspy voice broke the silence.
“You… just had a baby?” Joshua asked, his voice rough and unsteady.
His voice was so hoarse, it sounded like he’d been screaming for days.
Xylia’s brows knitted together in concern.
She got up again, grabbed a cup, poured some water for Joshua, and even thoughtfully added a straw.
Joshua frowned as he watched her.
Out of habit, when she held the cup to his lips, he drank.
After Joshua finished drinking, Xylia finally answered his question, her voice soft and gentle.
“I gave birth about a week ago. It’s a girl. Are you happy it’s a daughter?” she asked, her big eyes full of hope.
Xylia gazed at Joshua, her whole face lit up with anticipation, waiting for his answer.
Joshua’s mind buzzed, and his cheeks instantly turned red.
