Xylia nestled softly in Joshua’s arms.

She had no clue how Josie figured it out, but the only thing she cared about was that Joshua was safer now.

He walked over, bent down, and looked into her bright eyes.

Xylia used to hold back, afraid of scaring Joshua off. But now, seeing him blush every other day, all bark and no bite, it was really starting to bug her.

“Time for bed,” Joshua said, trying his best to sound unfazed.

He steadied himself, putting on a cool front as he headed for the bed.

Xylia sprang up, grabbed his arm, and playfully threw him onto the mattress.

Joshua barely had time to react before her lips landed on his–warm, soft, and completely unexpected.

His eyes flew open, pupils shrinking in shock as he froze, totally caught off guard.

Xylia pinned Joshua’s hands down, acting like a total bad girl trying to steal her man.

“Honey, were you just thinking about this?” she teased, grinning mischievously.

She planted a quick, playful kiss on his lips.

She was totally playing the bad girl, looking all cheeky and bold.

Right now, Joshua was just like a shy boy, totally flustered by Xylia’s teasing.

His face was burning red.

Xylia, on the other hand, was clearly the experienced one here.

Seeing Joshua all shy and flustered, Xylia couldn’t help but laugh to herself.

Joshua had never acted like this before–not even close.

Getting to see this side of him now was actually kind of adorable.

She giggled quietly, unable to hold it in.

Joshua glanced up and caught Xylia’s playful smirk, like she was making fun of him for being too soft,

Xylia was still giggling when, out of nowhere, Joshua pulled her onto the bed. The world spun for a second as he hovered over her, claiming her lips in a fierce, possessive kiss.

This kiss was nothing like the gentle one she’d given him earlier.

He pressed his lips hard against hers, stealing her breath as he took over with fierce intensity, showing no restraint whatsoever.

It was possessive, dominant–he left her no room to resist.

Xylia was overwhelmed, her head tipped back as she could only surrender to his lead, completely at his mercy.

just as his hand reached her clothes, ready to undo them, Xylia stopped him.

Xylia reached out and stopped Joshua right then.

Xylia asked softly, “What’s wrong?”

His voice came out rough and husky.

Xylia whispered, “She’s right here with us.”

I’ll take her over to Mom’s,” Joshua offered, already starting to get up.

oshua never hesitated–he was halfway off the bed before Xylia could react.

Kylia reached out and caught his arm, holding him back.

Her cheeks turned red. Being with Joshua had definitely given her thicker skin, but if she carried the baby over to Mom’s oom now, anyone could tell exactly what they were planning.

She wasn’t that shameless.

Mom’s already asleep. Let’s wait until tomorrow,” she said, her voice soft but firm.

With that, she gently pushed Joshua away, scooted to the edge of the bed, and pulled the blanket up over herself, tucking in tight.

Joshua glared at her, clearly frustrated.

Seriously? She gets me all fired up and then just shuts me down?‘ he grumbled to himself.

Xylia gave him a look, then glanced at the bathroom.

Joshua slunk off to take a cold shower, defeated.

When he lay back down on the bed, Joshua turned his back to Xylia, leaving her with nothing but the back of his head.

He was clearly showing he was upset.

Xylia poked his back. “Don’t be mad. Fine, I just won’t kiss you anymore.

She said it on purpose, just to mess with him.

Sure enough, Joshua turned around, shooting her a wounded look.

“You know why I’m upset,” Joshua grumbled, sounding all wounded.

Xylia just laughed, poking fun at him. “Look at you, finally facing me?”

Joshua just kept quiet, lips pressed tight.

Xylia scooted closer, wrapped her arms around his waist, and snuggled up to him.

“Tomorrow, okay? Promise,” she murmured, her voice soft and playful.

And just like that, Joshua couldn’t stay mad anymore–his mood softened right up.
