Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 157

In Seraphina’s mind, Raelynn was just using Professor Finch's presence to act tough.

The professor had lived a long, shrewd life. Why would he ever give someone like Raelynn the time of day?

This slap.

She would remember it.

Seraphina didn't give Raelynn a chance to respond. She turned on her heel and walked away.

Raelynn, for her part, couldn't wait for them to get the hell out.

Sebastian and Seraphina had barely taken a few steps.

Suddenly.

A short, chubby shadow hurtled forward.

Before Raelynn could even process what was happening, Shane slammed full force into her abdomen. Caught entirely off guard, Raelynn was knocked backward, her lower back crashing violently into the jagged edge of a decorative stone fountain.

A blinding jolt of agony ripped through her.

In the darkness, all the color drained from Raelynn's face.

The impact to her spine instantly sapped her strength, leaving her unable to stand. Preston reacted fast, rushing forward and catching her before she could collapse.

Having succeeded in his ambush, Shane made a mocking face. "You dared hit my sister, so you don't get off easy either! Bleh! Evil witch!"

Shane took off sprinting.

He bolted out the gate and scrambled into the car.

Hearing the commotion, Sebastian turned back, a frigid chill creeping into his dark eyes, his brow furrowing slightly.

From that distance, he couldn't see how pale Raelynn's face had become.

He hadn't seen what Shane had just done either.

All he saw was Raelynn swaying unsteadily, half-embraced by Preston.

His gaze sharpened. Staring at Raelynn, he pivoted, preparing to step toward her.

"Seb, I think my face is cut..." Seraphina suddenly clutched his sleeve, touching her cheek in a panic. "I think it's bleeding..."

Sebastian's footsteps slowed.

He turned his head.

He saw that the cheek Raelynn had slapped was indeed scraped and weeping a tiny bit of blood.

The crease between his brows deepened.

He withdrew his gaze from Raelynn, turning his back to her, and escorted Seraphina to the car.
