A fleeting, suffocating silence swept over the private booth, cutting through the soft background music.
The atmosphere instantly turned heavy and bizarre.
Even the typically carefree Leo wiped the grin off his face, staring at Luke in absolute disbelief.
Luke wanted to bed... Raelynn?
Julian instinctively furrowed his brows. When Luke had previously mentioned his interest in Raelynn, Julian assumed it was just a fleeting curiosity.
He never expected it to escalate to this level.
And the most crucial point was...
He was making these insanely audacious claims right in front of Sebastian.
Julian's gaze flicked to Sebastian's face.
Under the dim, shifting lights, Sebastian kept his eyes lowered, watching the ice cubes clink against his glass. "I know her," he replied simply.
His tone was entirely devoid of emotion.
Yet those three words carried staggering weight.
Not only did he know her.
She had been his wife for seven years.
Seraphina quietly observed Sebastian, noticing that he wasn't the slightest bit offended by Luke's blatant declaration of wanting to sleep with Raelynn. Relief washed over her, and her lips curled into a victorious smirk.
Sebastian clearly didn't care if other men lusted after Raelynn.
Luke clinked his glass against Sebastian's, speaking with full transparency. "I came to Seaport City specifically to pursue her. I remember Mr. Croix used to be relentlessly pestered by her."
Half-concealed in the shadows, Sebastian slightly tilted his chin at the remark.
Hearing Luke's assessment of Raelynn, Leo and Julian exchanged a covert glance.
"I believe I mentioned this to you before, Luke. Raelynn is a married woman. There's no need for you to be this reckless," Julian warned indirectly, his expression unreadable.
Of course, he didn't want Luke anywhere near Raelynn.
For one, she hadn't officially signed the divorce papers yet, meaning she was still Sebastian's wife.
Secondly, Luke clearly just wanted to use her for a quick thrill. Regardless of everything, Raelynn was Sebastian's wife. Letting Luke treat her like some cheap conquest was essentially a massive slap in Sebastian's face.
