A flicker of amusement crossed Luke's eyes.
A woman with a temper wasn't a bad thing. If she were too easy to conquer, she wouldn't be any fun.
Undeterred, he kept calling her.
Unaware of the video call, Leo Flynn leaned in and whispered to Julian, "Is Raelynn out of her mind? Is she trying to get even?"
Julian's gaze turned somber.
He didn't answer.
Instead, he glanced at Sebastian sitting nearby.
The strikingly handsome man leaned against the sofa, his expression completely detached as he listened to Seraphina.
He didn't look like a man who cared at all.
Was Raelynn regretting the divorce and resorting to this reckless behavior just to make Sebastian jealous?
"Sebastian? Aren't you going to stop her?" Seraphina sat right beside him, keeping her voice low.
She let out a soft sigh. "Raelynn is taking things a little too far."
As her older sister, it made sense for her to express concern.
Sebastian swirled the liquor in his glass. "Stop what?"
His eyes were cool and tranquil, completely devoid of any emotion.
It was as if he hadn't even processed what she was asking.
Seraphina smiled, clinking her glass against his, and dropped the subject. "Let's go for a walk on the beach later. Just the two of us."
Luke watched his screen as his call was rejected yet again.
He had no intention of stopping.
He dialed relentlessly, chatting and drinking with the people around him as the phone rang.
Back at the hotel.
After ignoring the obnoxious ringing for the hundredth time, Raelynn couldn't take the noise anymore.
She paused her work on the formula, exchanged a tired look with Preston Moreno, and finally answered.
The screen immediately showed the dim, moody lighting of a bar. The background music wasn't too loud; it was actually quite soothing.
Luke hadn't noticed she picked up and was still talking to the person next to him.
Raelynn knew that song.
It was the ultimate romantic ballad.
Singing it wasn't just karaoke; it was a public declaration of love.
She certainly didn't have the stomach to sit there and listen to them flaunt their burning romance.
She was about to hit end.
But then Luke spoke up. "Ms. Vance, why don't you tell us how you and Mr. Croix fell in love? How did he win you over? Actually, Mr. Croix, give me some advice. I have a date with Raelynn tomorrow. How do I get her to take things to the next level?"
Take things to the next level.
Raelynn wasn't an idiot.
She knew exactly what he meant. He wanted to get her into bed.
She never imagined Luke would actually ask Sebastian for seduction advice.
She was nothing more than cheap locker-room talk to them.
And Sebastian was supposed to teach Luke how to... sleep with her?

I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
