The entire drive back from the private restaurant, Luke Sterling was seething.
He had video-called Raelynn relentlessly on iMessage.
Without fail, she had ignored every single one.
Being stood up by a woman was a first for him. Throughout his entire life, women had thrown themselves at his feet, desperate to please him.
Except for Raelynn.
She had left him waiting at an empty table for an entire hour!
When Luke stepped out of his car, his strikingly handsome face was clouded with dark fury as he marched toward the elevators.
He figured he had played the polite gentleman for far too long.
That was why she felt emboldened to provoke him.
Tonight.
He was going to rip up the rulebook and drop the nice-guy act entirely.
Just as he stepped off the elevator on the top floor.
He ran straight into Seraphina Vance stepping out of the opposite car.
She was poured into a plunging, emerald-green slip dress that hugged her curves flawlessly. With every step, her legs flashed teasingly through the high slit.
Luke's gaze naturally swept over her.
She was gorgeous.
And blatantly suggestive.
It was obvious she had a very specific date planned for tonight.
Seeing her dressed like that didn't arouse him; instead, it made his mind instantly picture Raelynn in the exact same dress...
The thought sparked a wildfire in his chest.
He rubbed his temples in frustration.
Seraphina spotted him and smiled sweetly. "Mr. Sterling? Weren't you supposed to meet Raelynn tonight? Are you two..."
She scanned his face closely.
She didn't see the satisfied glow of a man who had just enjoyed a romantic evening.
Her eyes narrowed slightly.
"Yeah, I'm going to see her right now," Luke replied curtly.
After all, admitting he had been stood up was humiliating.
Seraphina's eyes sparkled with sudden interest. "You're going to her room right now? Did she invite you up?"
Had Raelynn finally caved and spread her legs for him?
Walking briskly, Luke just gave a dismissive "Yeah."
Seraphina watched his retreating back and casually trailed behind him.
-
The doorbell rang with increasing violence.
