Two cars were parked.
Walking in front were Sebastian Croix and Seraphina Vance.
The two had clearly just returned from out of town. Seraphina still had a lingering excitement on her face, brimming with smiles, and the way she looked at the man beside her was incredibly tender.
Not knowing what private things they were discussing, she even tilted her head up to whisper in his ear.
Sebastian's expression was composed, but his pace matched hers perfectly.
Raelynn couldn't help but freeze.
It was already past eight in the evening.
Sebastian had brought Seraphina... back to their marital home?
Were they planning to spend the night?
The conclusion made a wave of nausea wash over Raelynn uncontrollably.
After all, this was the home she had meticulously maintained for seven years, now being stepped on by another woman. That instinctual, physical revulsion made her deeply uncomfortable, but she also knew they were already divorced. Who Sebastian brought home was his own business.
Perhaps Raelynn stood out too much standing there.
Seraphina was the first to spot her. The smile in her eyes was instantly replaced by displeasure and... a certain possessive reprimand.
It was as if Raelynn's presence here was an intrusion on her private territory.
That absolute confidence of a 'hostess' was strikingly glaring.
Raelynn gave a silent, sarcastic smirk.
Sebastian shifted his gaze, his eyes locking onto Raelynn. While there was no surprise at her being there, his dark eyes swept over her with a dismissive, breezy indifference.
Because Raelynn was wearing pajamas.
Obviously, it was very clear where she intended to spend the night.
"Raelynn?"
Behind them, two more figures walked over, their expressions changing in various subtle ways upon seeing her.
Especially Julian.
He had been flipping through a business proposal in his hands.
Hearing the commotion, he looked up.
His expression instantly shifted.
He couldn't believe Raelynn had shown up here again.
After all, when Sebastian and Raelynn divorced, he had witnessed the whole thing firsthand. Raelynn's attitude back then had been one of absolute resolve, showing zero residual feelings for Sebastian.
"Wandering around late at night in clothes like that... it's not very appropriate, is it."
Finally, Seraphina spoke up.
Her eyes scanned Raelynn up and down, brewing with thick displeasure.
Who was Raelynn trying to put on a show for dressed like that?
She didn't have a single ounce of shame left!
Raelynn looked down at herself.
Seraphina's attitude made it seem like she was committing some grave offense against public decency.
...What a lunatic.
She met the other woman's gaze dead on. "And you running to someone else's house late at night is appropriate? Do you not have a home? Or do you just not have a bed?"
Seraphina's expression shifted slightly.
After all, Raelynn's use of 'someone else's house' was a direct jab that she was just an outsider.
Leo's smile vanished, naturally unwilling to let Raelynn bully Seraphina. "From what I heard, you threw a tantrum and insisted on moving out. Seb let you have your way and didn't bother with you. Now you sneak back with no spine, and you didn't think you'd be interrupting other people's normal interactions?"

I think for as slow as the beginning was, their turning point is just so fast... really hope we actually get to read about R and S and their rekindle.... we did not read 950 pages for their story to be sidelined. Im for this sideline story, but it if it's to separate from the main characters and their story, please make it separate book....
Author please update more chapters...
I really like Zella, she is becoming a good friend to Raelynn. Ian needs to go. The relationship with Chloe is confusing. Some chapters they are cousins, sometimes they're sibling. A little confusing....
Julians role as big brother- I feel comes from a genuine place, but in a relationship thats is just as stained as Raelynns and Sebastians. It hard for me to connect to his big brother role as he too was such a problem before. And while they talked a little bit, the conversation did not give me the believe there was resolution between Raelynn and Julian. For a brute, he should make his feelings clear about the situation to Raelynn and then step back, until there is more foundation for him to stand on....
Knife in my heart. I hurt for Raelynn. She has made it this far, but how much does she have in her, everyone has a breaking point. Some back of me hopes the author is joking to lighten the mood after so many intense chapters, but thats not this kind of story or couple....
My heart cannot take this. This, cannot be how it ends with these too. They need resolution with each other. Raelynn needs to be more humanize with Sebastian. We know she is hurt, but this is the branch. She needs all these answers, if not for them to be together, then for Lily to have both her parents. Stop with the mind games Raelynn!...
Its like the story is just repeating itself...
Timeline is getting lost for me. So many treasured little memories Raelynn has but yet, he was gone for years ? Anyways... still rooting for them! These two need a heart to heart. Lily "forgetting" someone, not possible in this day and age and I hope thats not their storyline....
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
