Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 237

Raelynn stopped walking.

She genuinely didn't understand why Julian had chased after her just to pick a fight.

Like a ghost, he insisted on haunting her just to make her miserable.

"Did he ask you to come here and act as Seraphina's lobbyist?" Raelynn shot back.

Julian's thin lips parted slightly.

Seraphina's lobbyist?

He thought about it for a second, and it actually did sound like that.

"It's best if you understand the reality of the situation," he said, staring at Raelynn's face.

Lately, this whole mess had been weighing on his mind.

It nearly made him think he was catching feelings for his buddy's wife.

However, he wasn't a man who didn't understand romantic attraction; he could tell it wasn't that kind of situation.

Raelynn's eyes were red.

She was furious.

Matilda Croix was forcing her hand, Sebastian had stood her up and humiliated her, Lily's custody hung over her neck like a guillotine keeping her on edge, and now Julian had to come act as a lobbyist for Sebastian's mistress, telling her to step aside.

She almost thought she was public enemy number one.

Everyone was out to get her.

"Who do you think you are to me? What gives you the right to order me around?" she demanded, word by word, her eyes filled with icy resolve and unyielding stubbornness.

Julian looked at her reddened eyes.

This was the first time he had ever seen Raelynn look so... wronged.

Before, Raelynn had always been sharp with him, bristling with defensive thorns.

Nothing like now, where she couldn't hold back that overwhelming sense of grievance any longer.

His lips moved, and his chest inexplicably seized up with a sharp spasm.

She had no idea how late Sebastian and his friends would be partying, and she didn't care, let alone rush him. After all, she had shown up here today and was caught by Seraphina.

Sebastian was going to have to spend quite a while coaxing his girlfriend.

The approval process for NexusMind's drug was about to begin, and she needed to confirm the final wrap-up tasks.

Only work could temporarily distract her from the panic of uncertainty.

By nearly eleven o'clock that night, Sebastian walked through the door.

Mary, who hadn't gone to sleep yet, saw him return and immediately hurried over. "Mr. Croix, your wife has been waiting for you in the bedroom for a long time."

Sebastian hooked two fingers into his tie to loosen it, his sharp gaze sweeping toward the upstairs. "When did she move back?"

Mary beamed. "She moved back bright and early this morning. When she arrived, she looked quite happy. I can tell, she's very soft-hearted and still can't bear to leave you."

To this, Sebastian offered no reply.

He handed his jacket, which needed dry cleaning, to Mary. "Thank you."

Mary was practically overjoyed and couldn't resist adding a bit more. "Women, you know, they easily overthink things. Having a child is a great way to shift their focus. Mr. Croix, you should just get a bit more intimate with her and fulfill her wish to be a mother."
