Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 251

Leo Flynn couldn't hide his astonishment. "Has Mr. Moreno lost his mind? With such a massive team and so many senior developers, he gave the lead credit to Raelynn Ortiz? Does she really have that much charm?"

Julian cast him a sidelong glance. "Why can't it just be that Raelynn actually has the skills?"

Seraphina Vance stared at Raelynn's name on the massive screen, her complexion paling. A flicker of deep resentment crossed her eyes. "Impossible."

She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. "Don't forget what happened recently. NexusMind Technologies nearly kicked Raelynn out of the clinical trials. Add to that the massive funding Sebastian poured into NexusMind. As the key figure, Raelynn brought in that investment, which was more than enough to make NexusMind treat her exceptionally well. It's nothing but a bought honor. It doesn't count."

Back during the hospital incident involving Shane, Raelynn had nearly been fired by NexusMind. Seraphina figured Raelynn must have strategized with Preston Moreno to extort that enormous funding from Sebastian Croix, thereby earning Preston's favor.

Leo agreed that this was the most plausible explanation. He shook his head. "How far can she really go with that? She scrounged up some glory this time, but can she do it again?"

Seraphina scoffed silently. What Raelynn did this time was no different from outright theft. She had stolen the hard work of everyone at NexusMind Technologies and Kingsford University. She would inevitably face severe backlash in the future. Her smugness wouldn't last.

"Sebastian?"

Even though she rationalized it, a jealous fire still burned in her chest. Unwilling to accept defeat, she turned to Sebastian with a pitiful expression.

Sebastian stood up slowly, ignoring her completely as he looked toward a deeply thoughtful Julian. "Your grandmother seems quite interested in Raelynn."

At the mention of Raelynn, Seraphina pressed her lips into a thin line, her mood souring further.

Julian frowned. Was that true? His grandmother had never been so warm and approachable with anyone.

Outside the venue, Raelynn could easily guess the drama unfolding inside. As she exited, she spotted Dr. Evelyn Hayes about to get into a car.

Preston was utterly speechless.

They were used to bantering like this, but today's success definitely called for a celebration. The new drug's development was officially complete. Next up, the company's other departments would handle the integration.

"Everyone has worked so hard for so long," Preston suggested. "Let's organize a celebration dinner. We can all go out and unwind. I'll set up the itinerary."

Raelynn didn't object. They had spent countless nights burning the midnight oil in the lab, and exhaustion had settled deep into their bones. The subsequent phases—getting the drug covered by insurance and launching it into the market—would take time, but they had finally conquered the hardest part.

Just as they were about to get into the car, Raelynn's phone rang.

Without checking the caller ID, she answered. "Hello."

There was a brief silence on the line before a deeply textured, cold male voice spoke. "Raelynn, it's Ian Hudson. I'm back in the country. Are you free to meet?"
