Leo Flynn offered a practical suggestion. "Real power is the only thing that lasts. Sebastian and Julian are heading to an Investors' Gala tonight. Since you're looking to build a team for your new project, tagging along to network wouldn't hurt."
Intrigued, Seraphina softened her gaze and looked up at Sebastian. "Sebastian, would that be convenient?"
Sebastian had just wrapped up a business call. Hearing her request, he didn't mind letting her leverage his connections. "It's fine."
Julian observed Sebastian's easy agreement, recognizing the dynamic. A man's affection for a woman wasn't just sweet words; it was providing money and resources. Adults didn't survive on empty romance. Sebastian certainly wasn't stingy with Seraphina.
Julian frowned slightly. It would be best if Raelynn just gave up entirely.
The gala kicked off at seven that evening. Seraphina, draped in a stunning gown, arrived alongside Sebastian and Julian. The venue was already bustling with guests.
Almost immediately, Julian spotted a towering figure surrounded by a crowd in the center of the hall. He blinked in surprise. "Ian Hudson?"
Sebastian shifted his gaze, spotting the man standing out effortlessly among the elite.
Having navigated these social circles for a while, Seraphina knew of Ian's reputation, even if they had never met. "Isn't Mr. Hudson supposed to be in Canada expanding the overseas business?" she asked.
Julian found it odd too. "He wasn't scheduled to return until the end of the year." He had heard rumors from his family that Ian was planning a massive move abroad.
Sebastian didn't comment. He simply raised his eyes and offered a subtle nod as the man approached. "Mr. Hudson. It's been a while."
Julian turned to face Ian. The man looked exactly as he remembered—exuding an aura of unapproachable authority.
Ian's gaze rested on Sebastian for a fraction of a second. "Mr. Croix." Then, he greeted Julian. "Mr. Yves. You're in Kingsford as well."
Seraphina openly studied Ian, flashing a charming smile. "You guys know each other well?"
