Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 295

Or he rejected them for Seraphina's sake.

She had no interest in being a pawn in their twisted romance.

Sebastian gave a nonchalant hum. "Hmm."

Raelynn didn't expect him to care. "Give me an exact date for the divorce certificate."

That finally made him look at her.

Ignoring whatever was going through his head, she pushed on. "And the second installment for NexusMind Technologies. Have your finance department wire it immediately. Our project cannot afford any delays."

Those were the only two things she needed from him.

She met his gaze directly. "I assume you don't want the divorce petition to sit in limbo until it gets voided either. Every day it remains unresolved is another day Seraphina stays a mistress. It delays your happy ending, and it messes with my plans."

He asked coolly, "Do you need the divorce papers so you can remarry?"

Raelynn froze.

He probably assumed she was rushing him so she could run off and get a marriage license with Ian.

Let him think that. It was actually better this way. It helped conceal the real reason—securing Lily's legal registration.

"What don't I need them for?" she countered.

Residency paperwork, remarrying, buying property, working... the certificate was mandatory for everything.

"I need a firm answer on both of those things." Raelynn refused to back down, practically cornering him.

Sebastian stared down at her with a calm, unreadable expression.

Before he could answer.

Seraphina's voice echoed from around the corner. "Sebastian?"

She was looking for him.

Sebastian didn't hesitate for a second. He immediately stepped away and headed toward the voice.

It was as if he was desperate to avoid being seen alone with Raelynn, aggressively avoiding any suspicion and terrified of making Seraphina worry.

His priority was blindingly clear: Seraphina always came first.

A lump formed in Raelynn's throat. When it came to her needs, he would forever put them off. Again, and again, and again.

Having failed to get an answer, her mood soured.

By the time she returned to the main party, the toasts were in full swing.

Sebastian was the center of attention, standing next to a table stacked high with a massive tower of champagne flutes.

Not wanting to engage with them for a second longer, Raelynn turned to leave.

Suddenly, Lily's voice rang out: "Why are you trying to take my things?"

Raelynn whipped her head around.

Shane, that little brat, was grabbing at Lily's headband. He looked completely arrogant. "My sister and brother-in-law each have one! I need one too! Give it to me!"

Lily's small face was tense with anger as she desperately protected her belonging.

Shane aggressively grabbed the headband with both hands and gave a vicious yank.

He likely hadn't expected Lily to be so weak. The sheer force of his pull ripped the headband away, sending his heavy body flying backward from the momentum.

His solid frame slammed into the table like a cannonball.

In an instant, the towering mountain of glasses began to sway violently.

Faster than the eye could blink, the glasses came crashing down—right toward where Raelynn was standing.

Her pupils shrank in terror.

"Look out!"

"Raelynn!"
