Sebastian merely cast a slow, detached glance at Raelynn's retreating back before turning to greet the approaching guests.
Leo stepped up beside him. "If she's going to crash the party, she has to deal with the fallout. She probably thought she could use this to force Seb into making things public."
Disdain flickered in Seraphina's eyes.
Raelynn's pathetic little schemes were doomed from the start.
Sebastian ignored Leo's comment. He looked down at Seraphina. "Is the formula and database patent officially registered?"
Seraphina's smile turned fiercely proud. "It's all done. Everything went perfectly."
Leo chimed in. "Seb brought you here today to officially introduce you. He wants you to shine using the Longstride project. If you bring Longstride massive profits, Matilda and the rest of the family will be thrilled. It'll eliminate a lot of hurdles for you."
The hurdles preventing her from marrying into the Croix family.
Seraphina flushed pink, her eyes welling with emotion as she gazed up at Sebastian's striking profile.
Sebastian had brought her here today to present her triumph—to force the Croix family and the rest of society to view her with the respect she deserved.
She knew the incredible lengths he had gone to for her, and it moved her deeply.
As for the blockbuster news regarding that patent...
A triumphant smirk tugged at the corner of her lips.

Raelynn still hadn't managed to get a private word with Sebastian.
She knew he would never willingly interact with her in front of a crowd.
She also felt entirely out of place here.
Deciding she didn't care if he was busy, she simply texted him: *Can we talk?*
Sebastian didn't reply.
Raelynn considered calling him instead.
Before she could dial, a shadow fell over her, bringing with it the familiar, crisp scent of cedarwood.
"Yes. What is it?"
Raelynn jerked her head up, stunned to find Sebastian standing right there, reaching for a drink from the tray beside her.
His gaze was lowered, his expression utterly nonchalant.
Her brain short-circuited for a second. She instinctively glanced around, dropping her voice to a furious whisper. "What are you doing over here..."
She couldn't be blamed for her reaction; she had never expected him to walk right up to her in public.
He usually avoided her like the plague at these events.
She wasn't the only one caught off guard. Several people nearby had noticed, their eyes widening in surprise.
