She was thrilled that Raelynn had to hear the hard truth.
In the end, wasn't Raelynn completely powerless, left with no choice but to scurry away and pretend she didn't know anything?
A short, sharp laugh escaped Raelynn's throat. The whole situation was absolutely ridiculous.
Company regulations were being altered on a whim just so Seraphina could bring her R&D team to this executive floor. No wonder she was able to swagger around Longstride Technologies as if she owned the place. With Sebastian indulging her like this, who in the company wouldn't cater to her every demand?
Raelynn ignored her.
She simply turned and headed straight toward the executive office.
Seeing Raelynn stroll through Longstride as if she owned the place sparked a flash of anger in Seraphina. She stepped forward and grabbed Raelynn's wrist. "That's Sebastian's office. You haven't been granted permission. You have no right to go in."
A sharp sting flared on Raelynn's wrist.
Seraphina's freshly manicured nails bit sharply into her skin.
That instantly drained the last of Raelynn's patience.
"It seems you still haven't figured out your place. I don't mind waking you up. I could have you thrown out of Longstride right now if I wanted to." Raelynn's eyes were cold.
But Seraphina was right about one thing. In the past, she truly wasn't allowed here. She didn't need Seraphina to remind her of the vast divide between them.
Seraphina's expression darkened.
She sneered, "Are you out of your mind?"
This was Sebastian's company. Raelynn was talking completely out of her depth!
Mr. Tanner hurried over.
Seeing the tense standoff, cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
One was the legal wife, the other was the beloved mistress. As a corporate employee, he really didn't want to get caught in the crossfire.
But Longstride had officially changed hands, and he would be working for Raelynn from now on. He quickly turned to the other woman. "Ms. Vance, why don't we step inside to talk?"
"No need," Seraphina said sharply. "The R&D team is based here, and having outsiders around—especially people from other companies—is a security risk. Mr. Tanner, please see her out."
