Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 394

Raelynn almost laughed out loud at the absurdity of it.

The Croix family worshiped profit above all else. As long as you could bring them value, they would gladly sacrifice morals, human decency, and basic dignity.

She understood the game perfectly now.

She stepped back from the altar, firmly cementing her position as an outsider.

She was only here for the divorce papers. Out of basic courtesy, she had figured she might as well pay her respects to the ancestors. But since the family wanted to play both sides, she didn't need to waste her manners. She had no obligation to participate in this charade.

She was more than happy to give up her spot to Seraphina.

Raelynn turned on her heel and retreated toward the back of the hall.

She showed absolutely no intention of marching up there and putting the other woman in her place.

She watched with cold detachment as the family silently welcomed Seraphina into their ranks.

As Raelynn "graciously" bowed out of this pathetic love triangle, Sebastian's eyes locked onto her face, watching her walk all the way to the back row.

She practically stood out the door.

Like a complete bystander.

He genuinely suspected that if he asked her to give them her blessing right now, she would do it without a flinch.

Unlike Sebastian's chilling indifference.

Matilda frowned as she watched Raelynn retreat. "Raelynn, don't throw a temper tantrum. Why are you standing all the way back there? You are still Sebastian's wife."

Raelynn knew exactly what the old woman was doing. Matilda wasn't ready to officially announce the divorce to the rest of the family just yet, so she was forcing Raelynn to keep playing the part.

She let out a soft scoff.

It seemed there was no winning for her.

If she got jealous, she was petty. If she stepped aside gracefully, she was throwing a tantrum?

Staying calm and dignified wasn't an option; she was expected to grovel and submit.

But the Matriarch merely left it at that.

She had no intention of embarrassing Seraphina either. Waving a hand, she ordered, "Continue."

If Raelynn were half as accomplished as Seraphina, Sebastian wouldn't have strayed.

At the end of the day, Raelynn simply lacked value.

Truth be told, Matilda had been heavily displeased when Sebastian gifted Raelynn that massive sum of money as a settlement while helping Seraphina sever ties with Longstride Technologies.

Ninety million dollars.

Losing that much capital just for Seraphina was a terrible return on investment.

The Croix family never let anyone take advantage of them.

Had it not been for this scandal, Raelynn would never have seen a dime of that money.

But now, Seraphina was finally proving her worth.
